Additional Persecution News from China – April 4, 2016 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 were illegally arrested. One practitioner was arrested and detained for suing Jiang Zemin.

1. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xu Changhong Sentenced

Mr. Xu Changhong was sentenced to a three year prison term by the Xianning City Court on April 1, 2016.

2. [Suixi County, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Wang Ye and Ms. Chen Yueqiong were arrested by officers from the local Domestic Security Division, police station, and 610 Office on March 22, 2016. Ms. Deng Xiaomei was arrested on March 28. They are being detained in the Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Center.

3. [Yanbian, Jilin Province] Mr. Gu Zhenliang Arrested

Mr. Guzhen Liang, in his fifties, was arrested by officers from the Tumen City Domestic Security Division on April 3, 2016. They ransacked his home and confiscated computers and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

4. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Ying Detained

Ms. Luo Ying was arrested by several plainclothes officers from the local Domestic Security Division on April 1, 2016. She is being detained in the Xianan District Detention Center.

5. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ma Qiang and Ms. Liu Xiaofeng Detained

Mr. Ma Qiang and Ms. Liu Xiaofeng, arrested on April 1, 2016, are being detained in the Qianan City Detention Center.

6. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Cuimin Arrested

Ms. Dong Cuimin was arrested at her workplace by officers from the Xiadian Town Police Station on March 13, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, along with calendars and copies of the Minghui Weekly.

She was taken to the Zhaoyuan City Detention Center and released the next day due to high blood pressure.

7. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Guo Ruiping Detained

Ms. Guo Ruiping was arrested at home by officers from the Hengshui Town Police Station on April 1, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Anyang Detention Center.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Yongdeng Arrested

Mr. Li Yongdeng, in his late seventies, was arrested by officers from the Wanlian Police Station and 610 Office on April 1, 2016.

9. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Shao Xiayun Detained

Ms. Li Jing and her daughter Ms. Shao Xiayun were arrested on March 14, 2016, and taken to the Zhumadian City Detention House. They were transferred to the Zhumadian City Detention Center on March 24.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Xiaoxian and Ms. Sun Xiaoying Detained

Ms. Sun Xiaoying was arrested on April 1, 2016, by officers from the Kailuan Police Department, Domestic Security Division, and Xinlin Police Station. The police ransacked her home and confiscated computers, printers, printer ink and paper, an audio player, DVDs, DVD boxes, Falun Gong books, cell phones, and other personal belongings.

Mr. Li Xiaoxian was also arrested and his home ransacked by officers from the Kailuan Police Department.

Ms. Sun and Mr. Li are detained in the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center.

11. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Xiao Jianrong Arrested

Ms. Xiao Jianrong, in her forties, was arrested on March 31, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and a computer.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lijun Detained

Ms. Wang Lijun was arrested by officers from the Nanyuan Police Station on January 20, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong and distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being detained in the Fengtai Detention Center.

13. [Suiling County, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Recently Sentenced

Ms. Shen Qingyun was recently sentenced to a three-year-and-six month prison term by the Suiling County Court. She will serve her term in the Harbin Prison.

Ms. Wang Shufang was sentenced to a one-year-and-one month prison term by the Qingan County Court.

Ms. Gu Yanwen was sentenced to a one year prison term by the Qingan County Court.

Mr. Sun Chuantong and Mr. Xiu Zhongchen were each sentenced to a ten-month prison term by the Suiling County Court.
