Additional Persecution News from China – April 3, 2016 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Zhen Detained

Mr. Zhang Zhen, 73, was arrested on December 22, 2015. He was tried and sentenced to a two year prison term by Yitong Court on March 10, 2016. He is detained at Yitong County Detention Center.

2. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gong Qiumin Detained

Ms. Gong Qiumin was tried again by Jiangyuan District Court on March 29, 2016. She was sentenced to a three year prison term. She is still detained at a detention center.

3. [Shangqiu City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Wende Detained

Mr. Li Wende was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Minquan County Domestic Security Division on March 24, 2016. He is currently detained at the Sui County Detention Center.

4 [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Ying Detained

Ms. Luo Ying was arrested by plainclothes officers on April 1, 2016. She is detained at Xianan District Detention Center.

5. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

The following six practitioners were arrested for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

Mr. Liu Qingming was arrested at home by officers from the Xintiaohe Police Station on March 7, 2016. He was detained at the Jinxiang Detention Center for 15 days.

Ms. Zhang Qiaoyun, Ms. Zhou Xiuying, and Ms. Cheng Sumei were arrested by officers from the Gaohejiedao Police Station in Jinxiang County on March 16, 2016. The police confiscated all their Falun Gong books, DVDs, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, computers, cash money, and other personal items. They were detained at the Jinxiang Detention Center for 10 days.

Mr. Lu Xiujun, 65, was arrested by officers from the local police station in early March 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zhu Xiaolu, 35, was arrested officers from the local police station on February 28, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Meiying Arrested

Ms. Zhu Meiying was arrested by officers from Domestic Security Division on April 1, 2016.

7. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Qinfang and Ms. Cheng Xiuzhen Detained

Ms. Wang Qinfang and Ms. Cheng Xiuzhen were arrested by officers from the Gangou Town Police Station in Huining County on December 25, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, computers, and other personal items. They are currently detained at the Baiyin City Detention Center.

Ms. Zheng Hongxia was arrested and taken to Jiankanglu Police Station by officers from the Qinghe Domestic Security Division on March 10, 2016. The police confiscated a laptop computer, Falun Gong books, and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at a detention center.
