(Minghui.org) A Meizhou City resident is scheduled to face trial on March 29 for refusing to give up his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. The outcome of the trial is not yet known at the time of writing.

A medical examination revealed three tumors in Mr. Liang Shunjing's body. It is not clear if any medical attention is rendered to him as he awaits trial.

Mr. Liang and his wife Ms. Feng Xiufen were arrested together on December 10 last year. The police ransacked the couple's home and confiscated their Falun Gong books and materials, two computers, one printer, two MP3 players, one radio, four cell phones, and other personal belongings. Their car was also impounded.

Ms. Deng was released the next morning after a medical examination indicated high blood pressure. Mr. Liang was sent to Qinhuang Detention Center.

Ms. Deng went to the police station on January 11 this year to request return of items confiscated from her home. The police refused and told her to come back the next day. She obliged, only to be interrogated and made to undergo another medical examination. The police had intended to re-arrest her but changed their minds when she failed the examination.

Three days later, the police appeared at the couple's family-owned shop and demanded Ms. Deng sign the arrest warrant for her husband. She refused to comply, and the police mailed the approved arrest warrant to her on January 16.

Meijiang District Court set Mr. Liang's trial date for March 29, and his wife has hired a lawyer to defend him.
