(Minghui.org) Since last May, more than 200,000 people have filed criminal complaints and lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 1999. Most of those who have filed are Falun Gong practitioners within China. However, Jiang and his faction have been pushing back by using police to harass, abuse, arrest, and even torture some of them.
The following are two examples of police backing down when their intent to arrest practitioners was met with bravery.
1. A Policeman Backs Down
By a Falun Gong practitioner in Liaoning Province, China
Four other practitioners and I went out on February 3, 2016, to hang posters about Jiang Zemin being sued by Falun Gong practitioners around the world. We found a bus stop that many people use and decided to place posters there.
We put the posters on the ground and started to apply glue on the backs of the posters. A plainclothes policeman walked over and asked, “Are you putting up Falun Gong materials?”
One practitioner asked, “Are you a police officer?” The officer nodded yes. The practitioner then asked, “What do you think is wrong with Falun Gong?”
“What's the use of what you are doing? You all need to come with me,” said the officer.
Another practitioner said, “Jiang Zemin has persecuted Falun Gong and is being sued by over 200,000 people. Did you know that?”
“Then I am leaving,” replied the officer.
“You are doing the right thing,” said the practitioner.
2. Village Leader Stands Up for Practitioners
By a Falun Gong practitioner in Shandong Province, China
Late last year, police officers started to harass Falun Gong practitioners in our village who have sued Jiang Zemin. It was surprising because they had previously left us alone. Officers arrived one day and told the village leader that they would be putting pressure on practitioners and making arrests.
The village leader, who has been supportive of Dafa, rebuked them, saying, “How have they (practitioners who sued Jiang Zemin) affected you? When Jiang Zemin persecuted them, didn't you allow them to speak out? If you insist on arresting them, you'll need to fire me first.
“As long as I am the head of this village, if villagers disappear, I have the right to know where they are! You didn’t inform me of anything in advance. If you arrest them, don't come to me for anything in the future.”
The officers left in a huff and never came back to harass Falun Gong practitioners.
