Additional Persecution News from China – December 10, 2016 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 were illegally arrested.

1. [Zaoyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Cailan and Mr. Kui Junbo Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Cailan, 69, was arrested in October 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. After being held in the Zaoyang No. 1 Detention Center for 12 months, she was sentenced to seven years in prison on October 15, 2016.

Mr. Kui Junbo was arrested in April 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Local police took him to the Zaoyang No. 1 Detention Center and held him for seven months before he was sentenced to three years in prison on October 15.

2. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Yuchuan and Wife Ms. Li Shaochen Arrested

Mr. Wang Yuchuan and his wife Ms. Li Shaochen, from the Hongqiao District, along with Mr. Wu Dianzhong from the Xiqing District, were arrested on the morning of December 7, 2016.

3. [Tianjin] Mr. Chai Baohua Arrested

Mr. Chai Baohua, 52, from the Beichen District, was arrested at home on December 7, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Tian Li Detained

Ms. Tian Li from the Nankai District was arrested by officers from the Wanxing Police Station on December 7, 2016. Officers confiscated currency bills with Falun Gong information printed on them, along with calendars, DVDs, and other materials. She is being held in the Nankai Detention Center.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Cao Shanmin Arrested

Ms. Cao Shanmin from Hebei District was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Yixingfu Police Station on the morning of December 8, 2016.

6. [Chaohu City, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Several practitioners were arrested by officers from the Chaohu City Police Department when they were studying the Falun Gong teachings at Ms. Xia Zhenglan's home on the afternoon of December 7, 2016. Ms. Xia, Ms. Zhu Guiying, Ms. Jiang Kelan, and Ms. Yao were taken to the Hefei Detention Center. The other practitioners were released.

7. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Guiling and Ms. Zong Guiyun Detained

Ms. Qi Guiling and Ms. Zong Guiyun from Yaodianzi Town were arrested at home by officers from the Yaodianzi Town Police Station on the afternoon of December 5, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in the Yishui County Detention Center.

8. [Tengzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Hongxia Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhao Hongxia was arrested by officers from the Tengzhou City Domestic Security Division on November 4, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin. She was detained for 15 days, then tried in July 2016, and sentenced to four years in prison in November. She has appealed.

9. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Shanglin Detained

Mr. Yu Shanglin from the Xindian Neighborhood, Linzi District, was arrested by officers from the Chuantai Police Station on December 8, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational calendars. His home was ransacked. He is being held in the Zhangdian Detention Center.

10. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Defen Detained

Ms. Li Defen, 56, from Nanjucheng Village, Dayao Town, Muping District, was arrested by officers from the Haduihou Police Station on December 2, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held in the Muping District Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

11. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Yuqin Detained

Ms. Yuan Yuqin was arrested at home by officers from the Zhaoyuan Domestic Security Division of Yantai City, on December 5, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and other materials. She was taken to the Yantai City Detention Center for 30 days of detention.

12. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Cui Yutao Detained

Ms. Cui Yutao from the Datong Mining Area was arrested at home by Sun Wenlong and other officers from the Datong City 610 Office at noon on October 25, 2016. She is being held in the Datong City Detention Center.

13. [Raoyang County, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Wensu and another female practitioner Xiaomei were arrested by Bian Tongzhan, political head of the Chengzhen Police Station, and officers on December 9, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Both practitioners were taken to the police station and interrogated. They were released after their families were each extorted of 1,000 yuan that day.

14. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhu Lanxiu and Ms. Li Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Zhu Lanxiu and Ms. Li Yuzhen were arrested by officers from the Xinhualu Police Station, Jinchuan District, on the afternoon of December 9, 2016, for telling people about Falun Gong.

15. [Benxi County, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners from Mengjia Village, Qinghecheng Town, were arrested on December 4, 2016.

Mr. Xu Chunxue is being held in the Huangshan Detention Center, Xiaoshi Town. Ms. Yang Yuxiang and another female practitioner, Xiaoling, are being held in the Dabailou Detention Center for 15 days of detention. Ms. Wang Shufen has returned home.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested

More than ten practitioners from Liaozhong District were arrested by officers from the Shenyang City Police Department's Domestic Security Division and the Liaozhong District Police Department's Domestic Security Division on December 9, 2016.

The arrested practitioners include Mr. Sun Huiquan, his wife Ms. Tian Hongling, Ms. Li Jun, Ms. Li's husband, Ms. Sun Hong, Mr. Zhang Zhaoguo, Mr. Zheng Li, Mr. Wang Yu, and others.
