Additional Persecution News from China – September 30, 2016 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 were illegally arrested.

1. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested; Whereabouts of Ms. Zhang Unknown

Ms. Gao Yulan was arrested at home by Geng Lixin and other police officers on September 17, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated five Falun Gong books and an MP3 player. Ms. Gao was later released, but the police did not return the books.

Ms. Li Aidong was arrested at home by several officers from the Chengqiang Police Station on September 21, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and cell phones. Ms. Li was taken to the Baishan Hospital for the required physical examination before detention. She was diagnosed with high blood pressure. The police forced her to take two anti-hypertensive tablets and took her to the Baishan Detention Center. Her blood pressure was still high and the detention center refused to admit her. She was taken back to the Jiangyuan District Police Department and later released after they extorted 10,000 yuan from her family.

Ms. Zhang Yulan, that same week, was arrested at home by officers from the Zhengcha Police Station. The police confiscated Falun Gong books. Her whereabouts is unknown. Her mother, in her 70s, has been left unattended. Ms. Zhang's father and elder brother, also practitioners, were persecuted to death in a labor camp in 2003.

2. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Ten practitioners were arrested at home by Li Jing and other officers on September 28, 2016.

They are Mr. Han Jianshi, Ms. Su Yuxiang and her husband, Mr. Jin Guanghao, Ms. Zhai Shurong and her husband, Mr. Zhang Jizhong, Ms. Yang Shuqiu and her husband, and Ms. Bao Qingrong.

The police confiscated Falun Gong books, cell phones, and other personal items. The police went to Mr. Yang Chunjiang's home twice, but he was not at home. They then arrested his wife.

Ms. Zhai, Mr. Zhang, and Ms. Bao were released that day.

3. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Han Biqin Arrested

Ms. Han Biqin, in her 70s, was arrested by Hu Changkun, Jiang Wensong and five officers from the Gulin Town Police Station on September 27, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was released around 9:00 p.m.

4. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Mr. Fang Haoqi Detained

Mr. Fang Haoqi was arrested by officers from the Susong County Domestic Security Division on September 26, 2016. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, printer, and other items. The police ransacked his office the next day. He was taken to the Susong County Detention Center.

Ms. Li Haiying was arrested and detained for more than a week.

6. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Zhenqin Arrested

Ms. Xu Zhenqin was arrested on September 26, 2016.

7. [Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Chen Jingling Detained

Ms. Chen Jingling was arrested by officers from the Yuncheng City Domestic Security Division, Wanrong County Domestic Security Division, and Wangxian Town Police Station on September 26, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer. Ms. Chen was taken to the Yanhu District Detention Center in Yuncheng City the next day.

8. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Zhicong and Ms. Yan Xiangli Arrested

Mr. Chen Zhicong was arrested on September 24, 2016.

Ms. Yan Xiangli was arrested at home by a dozen officers from the Songyuan Police Station on September 25, 2016. She is detained in the Xixiang Police Station.

Ms. Yuan Yunlan was sentenced to a four-year prison term and taken to Wuhan City Women's Prison.

10. [Yongzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Guilian Arrested

Ms. Zeng Guilian, 67, was arrested at home by two people who did not show their identification card on September 26, 2016. She was taken to a brainwashing center. Her husband, who had difficulty taking care of himself, was left alone at home.

Mr. Zhang Hengtong was arrested at home and handcuffed by four officers on September 29, 2016. His family was told to bring clothes for him to the Huining County Police Department that evening.

Ms. Liu Jing and Mr. Du Xin were arrested at Ms. Liu's home by Zhao Lianke and officers from the Xinbin County Domestic Security Division on September 28, 2016. The police ransacked Ms. Liu's home. Both practitioners were taken to the Fushun City Detention Center.

Ms. Li Bohui was arrested by officers from the Longtousi Police Station on September 28, 2016, when he was stopped at a security check at the train station. She was taken to the Jiulongpo Police Station.

15. [Xingping City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Sun Yanping Detained

Ms. Sun Pingping was arrested by officers from the Xingping Police Department on September 26, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated materials about the persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. She is being held in the Xingping City Detention Center.
