(Minghui.org) A group of people from Fujian, a southern province of China, have decided to stand up and sue the former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, who launched the persecution of Falun Gong 16 years ago. (Falun Gong is also known as Falun Dafa) These people have witnessed their family members benefit from the practice, and later saw them suffer torture and other brutal forms of persecution. They want justice for their family members. A few of their stories follow.
Falun Dafa Gives My Younger Sister A Second Life
My younger sister has always been sickly ever since she was little. Since 1997 she was hospitalized at least three times every year for bile duct blockage and abnormal breast tissue growth. It was my job to take her to the hospital every time she got sick. She was depressed about her condition and her husband was kept busy earning the money to pay for her hospital visits.
One day on our way to the hospital, my sister said with excitement, “I want to go to the park today.” At the moment I was worried. I thought she had given up on herself and wanted to enjoy the last bit of her life doing something else. As I took her to the park and helped her get off the bicycle, she slowly walked toward a group of people and began to follow their movements. She even sat in meditation with them. Later she told me about it. They were practicing Falun Gong.
From that day on I took her to the park to do the Falun Gong exercises every day. Her health began to improve. Shortly all her ailments were gone. She no longer needed any of her pills or to visit the hospital. She was energetic and looked much younger. Our entire family witnessed the miracle of Falun Dafa on my sister and were so grateful to the Teacher Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa.
After the persecution started, my sister was illegally arrested and sent to a forced labor camp for refusing to give up her belief. The authorities constantly came to harass our family. We dared not tell our father that his daughter was imprisoned every time he mentioned not seeing her for a while.
Falun Dafa had saved my sister's life and never asked for anything in return. To tell everyone the facts, to redress Falun Dafa and Master Li, and to have justice for my sister, I decided that I must sue Jiang Zemin, the chief perpetrator of the persecution against this peaceful practice that has helped so many people.
Life Without A Father
When I was eight, my father started practicing Falun Gong. He set a righteous example for me and always taught me how to tell right from wrong. My life was all sunshine until I was 11 and the persecution of Falun Gong started.
At the time, the police seemed to behave worse than hooligans. They broke into our house in broad day light, ransacked our home, and took away our personal belongings. I remember I was crying in hiding. They went to my father's work and did the same. The police took my father away when I was 12 and put him in detention for his belief. He was later put in a forced labor camp for a year. I frequently woke in the middle of the night in tears, shouting for him.
When I was 16, he was taken to a forced labor camp again and tortured for three years. He came home when I was 20. I missed a great deal of schooling and lived a miserable life as a result of the persecution our family faced.
I spent all my teenage years in fear and the shadow of the persecution. I am an adult now and I know that my father did nothing wrong practicing Falun Gong. He is just a good man who followed the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
This persecution has hurt so many of the Falun Gong practitioners' children like me. I want redress the injustice done to my father and sue the culprit who started the persecution.
Protecting My Uncle
A few days before the last Chinese New Year, several plainclothes police officers broke into our home asking for my uncle, a Falun Gong practitioner.
My father, who was home alone, accused them of harassing us. My father purposely spoke really loud and drew the attention of the neighbors.
The neighbors all liked my uncle a lot because he was a kind and upright person. They began to tell the police what a good man my uncle was and that they should be ashamed for trying to arrest an honest law-abiding man.
My father soon drove the police out of the house, but they stood outside waiting to catch my uncle. They didn't leave until late that night.
My uncle has been a really nice man since I was little. After he began practicing Falun Gong, I witnessed many miracles happen to him. I knew that he was highly regarded in the neighborhood because he followed the principles of Falun Dafa. He often told me how Falun Dafa made him healthy, honest, peaceful and wise.
Jiang Zemin abused the system to slander Falun Dafa and falsely accuse practitioners of crimes they didn't commit in order to turn public opinion against the practice. His lies poisoned so many people in China and even around the world. As a family member of a practitioner, I won't remain silent. I have filed a criminal complaint against the culprit who directed the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. I asked the Chinese authorities to arrest Jiang and punish him for his crimes.
Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
