(Minghui.org) Under the order of the Ziyang City 610 Office, local police arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Liu Shufen and Ms. Chen Yurong at their homes on August 19, 2015. Ms. Liu is in her 80s and Ms. Chen is in her 60s.
The police ransacked their home and then took them to the Er-E Lake Brainwashing Center. Police confiscated a number of personal items, including Master Li’s portrait, Falun Gong informational flyers, DVDs and cash.
Police also ransacked practitioner Mr. Li Zhengrui’s home. He is in his 70s.
Ms. Chen Yurong’s son, Mr. Yang Changwen and his wife Wei Surong are also being held at the Er-E Lake Brainwashing Center. The couple was arrested on May 5, 2015 along with six other practitioners.
During June and July, the Ziyang police arrested a number of other practitioners, including Chen Zhi (still at the Ziyang Detention Center), Shen Yurong, Gong Suqun and Liu Shixian. In addition to trying to force the practitioners to renounce their belief in Falun Gong, the police also harassed their families.
When police ransacked Ms. Liu Shufen’s home, practitioner Mr. Li Zhengrui happened to be there. He tried to convince them to leave the house.
After the police took Ms. Liu away in a police car, they ransacked his home. The officers confiscated 1,500 yuan, Master Li's portrait, several Falun Gong books and an MP3 player.
Mr. Li Zhengrui clarified the truth about Falun Gong and told them about the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin. He told the officers to find better jobs and to stop persecuting Falun Gong.
A young officer warned him,“If you keep talking like this, I will take you to the E-Er Lake Brainwashing Center and you can join Ms. Liu Shufen.”
