(Minghui.org) My son's fortunes changed when I started practicing Falun Gong in February 2006.
Fifteen years ago, my son was left mentally disabled after being exposed to dangerous levels of gas from an accident in the kitchen. He was five years old at the time.
He was then bullied and ostracized by his classmates and teachers.
We tried to give him a fresh start by moving to another town when he was in the fourth grade. But his problems continued because he couldn't understand the teachers.
One of his instructors remarked, “In all my years of teaching, I have never met such a stupid student.” I was too sad to reply, and could only weep.
When he entered the eighth grade, his homeroom teacher repeatedly suggested that he would be better off applying to a technical training school, suggesting that he was not bright enough to go to a regular academic high school.
I told my son, “Since the teacher does not want you in class, don't go.” But he protested, “I should at least graduate from middle school.”
“OK,” I replied. “From now on, I want you to recite 'Falun Gong is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good.' This will help you improve. And I will do my part by doing well with the three things that are asked of Falun Gong practitioners.”
I believe that my son has a predestined relationship with Dafa. He often watched the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and read Minghui Weekly. He also enjoyed listening to music composed by practitioners.
When we had guests, he would play them videos of the Nine Commentaries to watch. When I burned incense for Master, he bowed in reverence. And when we took a taxi, he sent forth righteous thoughts while I told the driver about the persecution.
These benevolent actions began to change his life. In the last semester of middle school, his teacher told me that his scores had improved dramatically. My son, who always lagged behind the entire class, was soon admitted to a top high school.
Both his teachers and classmates were amazed, so I seized the opportunity to tell them that it was Falun Gong that made this miracle possible.
My son ended up in the top two for his college admission test and was admitted to a prestigious university.
