(Minghui.org) Two dozen police officers recently went to three Falun Gong practitioners' homes in Meixian Town to arrest them just because they practice Falun Gong. The police ransacked two homes and arrested one practitioner.

The police went to the homes of Mr. Chen Tingjun, Ms. Zhong Cailian, and Ms. Wu Xiangmei around 9 p.m. on July 13. Mr. Chen and Ms. Zhong had left home to avoid being arrested. Ms. Wu was arrested and detained for 17 days.

The police ransacked Ms. Wu's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Wu was taken to Pingjiang County Police Department and detained for two days. She was interrogated for three hours. She was transferred to Yunxi District Detention Center in Yueyang City and detained for seven days. Afterwards she was transferred to Pingjiang County Detention Center and detained for eight days. She was later released.

The police went to Ms. Zhong’s home that night. Ms. Zhong was not at home since she had left to avoid being arrested. Officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books.

After learning that the officers came to arrest his father, Mr. Chen’s son photographed them. The officers said they were there just to get information. Mr. Chen's brother said, “Then why don't you come during the day? You are coming at night, just like bandits.” Mr. Chen’s daughter-in-law said, “You are supposed to enforce the law, not harass innocent people.” The officers left.

Mr. Chen and Ms. Zhong returned home after staying away for approximately 20 days.

The officers that participated in the arrests were from the Pingjiang County Domestic Security Division and the Meixian Town Government and Police Station.
