Additional Persecution News from China – August 24, 2015 (27 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 31 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Mr. Yu Zujun Detained

Mr. Yu Zujun from the Nanhui District was arrested at work on August 18, 2015. He is held in the Fengxian District Detention Center.

2. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Su Qifeng Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Su Qifeng was taken to a brainwashing center on August 17, 2015

3. [Dongguang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guirong and Ms. Zhang Jiafeng Arrested

Ms. Li Guirong and Ms. Zhang Jiafeng were arrested by officers from the Matou Town Police Station while telling people about Falun Gong at the farmers market in Matou Town, Fucheng County on the morning of August 22, 2015. Ms. Li's non-practitioner son and daughter-in-law were also arrested when the couple were in the police station demanding Ms. Li's release.

Ms. Li and her daughter-in-law were detained in the Hengshui City Detention Center. Her son is held in the Criminal Police Division of Fucheng County.

Ms. Zhang was denied admission to the detention center because of high blood pressure. She was released after being extorted 15,000 yuan.

4. [Suixi County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Xiangdong Taken to Drug Rehabilitation Center

Mr. Huang Xiangdong, an employee at The Forestry Institute of Leizhou Forestry, was arrested at home by officers from the Suixi County 610 Office and the Chengyue Town Police Station on August 6, 2015. He is held in the Zhanjiang City Drug Rehabilitation Center.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Meizhen, Mr. He Guozhang, and another practitioner were arrested at the at a train station ID checkpoint when returning to their hometown on the evening of August 14, 2015. The police found in their bags Falun Gong informational materials and currency bills with brief Falun Gong messages written on them.

The three practitioners were taken to the nearby police station. They were transferred to the Gongping Police Station in the Wenjiang District the next day. They have been released.

6. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xu Hongge Detained

Ms. Xu Hongge, 64, an employee with the Tiger Forest and Paper Co., Ltd in the Chenglingji area, was arrested by stability maintenance personnel while telling people about Falun Gong on August 20, 2015. She is held in the Hubin Detention Center.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Li Detained

Ms. Cui Li from the Gushigoumen Village, Tanghekou Town, Huairou District was arrested by officers from the Haidian District Police Department on July 20, 2015. She is held in the Haidian District Detention Center.

8. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Qiyao Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Li Qiyao from the Huangshi Port District was sentenced to three years in prison around August 6, 2015. She has been transferred from the Wujiang Detention Center in Suzhou City to the Nanjing Women's Prison.

9. [Wulian County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuying Detained

Ms. Zhao Xiuying and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station while they were telling people about Falun Gong on August 20, 2015. Ms. Zhao is held in the Wulian County Detention Center. The other practitioner managed to escape.

10. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wen Zhongxiu Detained

Ms. Wen Zhongxiu from the Yangsidian area, Longmatan District was arrested and taken to a police station while she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials on August 17, 2015. She is being held in the Anfuqiao Detention Center for 10 days.

11. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Ziqun Detained

Ms. Li Ziqun, retired from the Sichuan Lutianhua Company Limited, was recorded by a security camera while she was posting Falun Gong informational materials in late July 2015. She was arrested by the local police department. She was held for 15 days.

12. [Luan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Jiao Zhensheng Arrested

Mr. Jiao Zhensheng, 71, from Xiguan Village, Luanzhou Town, was arrested at home by officers from the Lulong County Police Station on the evening of August 7, 2015.

13. [Wuji County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xin Suchen Taken to the Shijiazhuang Drug Rehabilitation Center

Ms. Xin Suchen from the Mingzhisi area, Beisu Town was arrested for carrying Falun Gong materials on her way to Tianjin by security staff in Zhuozhou City on August 22, 2015. She was taken to the Shijiazhuang Drug Rehabilitation Center by officials from Beisu Town.

14. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liang Deqin Detained

Sun Hengfei, head of the Domestic Security Division from the No. 2 Division of the Songyuan City Police Department, and other officers arrested Ms. Liang Deqin on the morning of August 20, 2015. Ms. Liang is held in the Shanyou Detention Center.

15. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Haohui and Wife Ms. Du Xiuli Arrested

Mr. Liu Haohui and his wife Ms. Du Xiuli were arrested by officers from the Zhaoyuan City Domestic Security Division on August 21, 2015. Their home was ransacked.

16. [Chongqing] Ms. Qiu Cuixiang Arrested

Mr. Qiu Cuixiang was arrested by plainclothes officers on August 21, 2015. Her whereabouts is unknown.

17. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Dong Mei and Ms. Meng Yan Arrested

Ms. Dong Mei and Ms. Meng Yan were arrested on August 19, 2015.

18. [Yueyang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Xu Hongge Detained

Mr. Xu Hongge was arrested by stability maintenance personnel when he was telling people about Falun Gong in the Wulipai area on August 20, 2015. He is being held in the Binhu Detention Center.

19. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Lin Yan Detained

Xu Lihua and other officers from the Qian'an County Domestic Security Division broke into a kindergarten class and arrested Mr. Lin Yan at work on August 20, 2015. Mr. Lin is being held in the Shanyou Detention Center, Songyuan City.

20. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Weng Ke and Ms. Wang Fengqing Arrested

Officers from the Gongren Police Station and Zhao Chuanjiang, a local police officer in charge of the Zhuanshan residential area, broke into Ms. Weng Ke's home and arrested her on the morning of August 17, 2015. At the police station, Ms. Weng was handcuffed, kept in an iron cage, and tied to an iron chair.

The officers broke into Ms. Wang Fengqing's home on the afternoon of August 17 and arrested her. Ms. Wang was taken to the police station.

21. [Beijing] Ms. Xing Fengling Detained

Ms. Xing Fengling from Anda City, Heilongjiang Provence was arrested in Beijing on August 17, 2015. She is being held in the Tongzhou Detention Center in Beijing.

22. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhang Zhishan Detained

Mr. Zhang Zhishan from the Xiqing District was arrested by officers from the Xiqing District Police Station on August 21, 2015. The police confiscated a computer, a printer, and cellphones. He is held in the Yangliuqing Detention Center.

23. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Baohua Detained

Mr. Zhang Baohua from the Taipingchi Reservoir area was arrested by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of August 22. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books. Mr. Zhang is detained in the Nong'an County Detention Center for five days.

24. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Yang Yuxi, Mr. Li Xizhu, Ms. Song Guifeng, Mr. Liu Sheng, Ms. Kang Linfen, Ms. Chen Yuzhen, and Ms. Lin Xiuwei were arrested on July 20, 2015. They have been held in the Liaocheng Detention Center. Recently it was reported that the seven practitioners were given prison sentences ranging from three to seven years. Mr. Yang Yuxi received the heaviest sentence of seven years.

25. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Li Taken to Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Shancheng Town Police Station arrested Ms. Ma Li on August 21, 2015. She was taken to a place formerly known as the Shuangxing Middle School Brainwashing Center.

26. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Li and Ms. Wang Cuihua Arrested

Ms. Li Li, 51, and Ms. Wang Cuihua, 58, were arrested by officers from the Minzhu Police Station while talking to people in Jiaohe City on August 23, 2015. The police ransacked their homes.

Mr. Fu Guibin and Mr. Yang Bolin from Jimingshan Village, JiJia Township were arrested on August 15, 2015. Both practitioners are being held in the Majiagangzi Detention Center for 15 days.
