Additional Persecution News from China – August 29, 2015 (Part II, 20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 46 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Detained

Seven practitioners, arrested by local police officers on August 20, 2015, are detained at Hegang City Detention Center. They are Ms. Bai Guixia, 45, Mr. Zhao Fuqiang, 48, Ms. Zhu Ruiqiu, 65, Ms. Liu Yaqin, in her 60s, Ms. Fan Fengzhen, in her 50s, Ms. Li Guoyun, in her 60s, and Mr. Yu Ruisheng, in his 60s.

2. [Ningxiang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Cao Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Cao Guizhi was arrested and taken to Changsha City Brainwashing Center by officers including director Yang from Yutan Town on August 26, 2015

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Yanhong and Ms. Du Arrested

Ms. Wu Yanhong and Ms. Du were arrested by officers from Hezuolu Police Station on August 25, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Du was released on August 28 and Ms. Wu was detained at Nanhuochang Detention Center for 14 days.

4. [Chongqing] Whereabouts of Ms. Ji Sufang and Mr. Yan Shuncai Unknown

Ms. Ji Sufang, 72, and Mr. Yan Shuncai, 63, were arrested by plainclothes officers on August 21, 2015, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Their whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhu Changjin Arrested

Mr. Zhu Changjin was arrested at home by officers from the Liqizhuang Police Station on August 20, 2015. The police confiscated Falun Gong books. Mr. Zhu was taken to that police station.

6. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Xu Bishan Detained

Ms. Xu Bishan was arrested at Zhengzhou City Railway Station on August 22, 2015. She is detained at the Zhengzhou City Railway Police Station.

7. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Ji Jianxia, Ms. Xiong Guizhen, Ms. Zhang Chaomei, and Ms. Wang Huilan were arrested by officers from the Houzaimen Police Station on August 14, 2015. The police ransacked the homes of Ms. Ji and Ms. Xiong. The four practitioners are detained at Nanjing Detention Center.

8. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiuyun was arrested at home by plainclothes officers from Kangzhuang Police Station on August 25, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.

Four other practitioners were also arrested that day: Mr. Yang Wenyuan, Ms. Li Shumei, Ms. Zhao Xiumei, and Ms. Sun Kezhen.

Ms. Zhang was released because she failed the physical examination. The four others are detained at Weifang Detention Center.

9. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Ten practitioners from Nanshan Group were arrested on August 24, 2015: Ms. Sun Fulian, Ms. Sui Guiying, Ms. Yao Daxiang, Ms. Yao Guilan, Ms. Guo Cuixia, Ms. Ren Shucui, Mr. Lu Liangzhi, Ms. Xing Shuheng, Mr. Sui Xinju, and Mr. Sui Bangde.

10. [Baishan City, Jilin City] Ms. Jia Qiufeng and Ms. Liu Yujie Arrested

Ms. Jia Qiufeng, in her 70s, was arrested on August 27, 2015. Mr. Liu Yujie was recently arrested for mailing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former dictator of the Chinese Communist Party.

11. [Tianjin] Mr. Chen Yuanhua and Ms. Yang Fujing Detained

Mr. Chen Yuanhua and Ms. Yang Fujing were arrested on August 26, 2015. They are detained at a detention center.

12. [Guangshan County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhu Shihou and Ms. Xiong Benzhen Arrested

Mr. Zhu Shihou and his wife Ms. Xiong Benzhen were arrested at work by officers from the Xianshan Police Station on August 26, 2015.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Weimin and Ms. Wang Xiaomin Arrested

Ms. Zhang Weimin and her daughter Ms. Wang Xiaomin were arrested on August 27, 2015. The police ransacked their home and confiscated printers, recorders, printer paper, DVDs, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and other personal items.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Shiqiang Detained

Mr. Lu Shiqiang was arrested by officers from Heping Police Station on August 28, 2015. He was detained for 15 days.

15. [Chongqing] Ms. Ji Shufen Arrested

Ms. Ji Shufen was arrested on August 25, 2015, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.

16. [Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Weng Hongwu and Ms. Wang Chengxia were arrested at home by officers including director Bai Baozhong from the Tushan Police Station. They were taken to that police station.

Ms. Zhao Rongcai and Mr. Weng's daughter were arrested and taken to Pizhou Police Department on the same day.

17. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners including Ms. Li Qinglian, Ms. Huang Chunhua, and Ms. Zhang Wenxing were arrested by officers from the Xinyu City Police Department on August 26, 2015. Ms. Huang and Ms. Li are detained at Xinyu Detention Center. Ms. Zhang, Ms. Huang's daughter, is detained in Jian City.

18. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Zhengfen Forced to Write Three Statements

Ms. Wang Zhengfen was arrested by officers from the Wanzhou District Police Department and 610 Office on August 24, 2015. She was taken to the Wanzhou District Brainwashing Center and forced to write three statements renouncing Falun Gong. She was released afterward.

19. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhu Weiying, Ms. Wang Zhaoying and Others Arrested

Ms. Zhu Weiying, Ms. Wang Zhaoying and other practitioners were arrested at Ms. Zhu's home by officers, led by the director from the Shenglilu Police Station on August 25, 2015. They were taken to that police station and Ms. Zhu and Ms. Wang were released that evening.

20. [Baofeng County, Henan Province] Whereabouts of Ms. Shi Qinglan and Her Husband Unknown

Ms. Shi Qinglan and her husband were arrested at home on August 25, 2015. Their whereabouts are unknown.
