Additional Persecution News from China – July 21, 2015 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 29 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners, including Ms. Wang Zhenming, were arrested by officers from Laizhou City on July 19, 2015.

Five practitioners were arrested on July 18, 2015. They are Ms. Sun Lili, Mr. Guo Songling, Mr. Hou Mingwu, Mr. Zhang Lizhong, and Ms. Guo Hongju.

Ms. Guo was released. Five are detained at the Laizhou City Detention Center and all others at the Dianzi Brainwashing Center.

2. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Bai Meili and Ms. Li Ying were arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of July 20, 2015.

Mr. Shi Yingji was also arrested by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on July 20.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Xinfen Arrested

Ms. Li Xinfen was arrested by officers from the Yeshuigou Police Station in early July 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was released.

4. [Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hu Xia and Ms. Li were arrested at their grocery store by officers from the Yangma Town Police Station on July 18, 2015, for talking to a young man about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their store.

5. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Huang Chenghui, Mr. Guo Qingyou and Mr. Xiong were arrested at the Miyi County Post Office by employees and security guards of the post office and officers from the local police station on July 20, 2015. They were taken to the local police station.

6. [Qufu City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Xie Yi, Ms. Huang Chunling and Ms. Liu Honglan were each sentenced to a five-year prison term and Ms. Wang Qin to a four-year prison term. They are imprisoned at the Shandong Province Women’s Prison.

Ms. Wang was tortured at the Jining City Detention Center. She needed emergency care at the Shandong Police Hospital during the early days of her detention.

7. [Pucheng City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Han Donglan Detained

Ms. Han Donglan was arrested by officers from the Heyang County Police Department on April 28, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at the Dali County Detention Center, which refuses family visits.

8. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Xianying Detained

Ms. Li Xianying was arrested and taken to the Shahezi Brainwashing Center by officers from the Yongji County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 1, 2015. She was later transferred to the Jilin City Detention Center.

9. [Shanghai] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhu Hua was arrested by officers from the Huangpu District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division on July 16, 2015. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, four laptop computers and other personal items.

Ms. Wang Beilei was also arrested.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Hu Mingwen Arrested

Mr. Hu Mingwen was arrested by officers from the local police station on July 16, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

11. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Suren Sentenced

Ms. Li Suren, 55, was arrested in January 2015, for paying her utility fee with currency having Falun Gong information on them. She was detained at the Xinyu City Detention Center. She was sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Xinyu Court on June 18, 2015 and transferred to the Jiangxi Province Women's Prison.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Hou Yongchun Arrested

Ms. Hou Yongchun was arrested at home by officers from the Beitaipingzhuang Police Station in Haidian District on July 20, 2015.

13. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Du Changyin Sentenced

Mr. Du Changyin was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Shenyang City Court on June 18, 2015. He was taken to the Masanjia Prison.

14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yuying Detained

Ms. Liu Yuying was arrested at home by officers from the Kaifa District on July 20, 2015. The police confiscated computers and printers. She is detained at the Haiqing Police Station.

15. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Detang, Ms. Wang Yinzhen, Ms. Yin Yulan and Mr. Zhou were arrested by officers from the Xiaowu Town Police Station on July 19, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Zhou and Ms. Yin were released that evening. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Wang are still detained at the Xiaowu Town Police Station.

16. [Leting County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Shu Yan and Mr. Li Jinku Detained

Ms. Li Shu Yan and Mr. Li Jinku were arrested by officers from the Zhongbu Town Police Station on July 11, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained at the Leting County Detention Center.

17. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lu Lin Detained

Ms. Lu Lin was arrested by officers from the Shizhongxinsan Police Station on July 16, 2015, for talking to officers from the Leshan City 610 Office about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 15 days of detention.

18. [Yuzhong County, Gansu Province] Mr. Jin Jilin Detained

Mr. Jin Jilin was arrested at home by officers from the Lanzhou City Domestic Security Division on July 2, 2015. He is detained at the Yuzhong County Detention Center.

19. [Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province] Seven Practitioners Sentenced

Seven practitioners were sentenced by the Yuyao City Court on the afternoon of July 17, 2015.

Ms. Yao Hongwen, Ms. Yu Zhiying, and Ms. Wang Chunyan were each sentenced to a five-year prison term. Ms. Huang Guidi was sentenced to a four year and six month prison term. Mr. Qi Changxing, Ms. Shao Hongni, and Ms. Chen Zhenhe were given from three to five years of probation.

20. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Tang Yulian, Ms. Wang Suiling, and Ms. Zhang Luying were arrested by officers from the Qinghua Police Station on the morning of July 20, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained at the Qishan County Detention Center.
