(Minghui.org) Over 120,000 criminal complaints were filed from May to July against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin for persecuting Falun Gong. Five Macau practitioners submitted their complaints on August 1, 2015.

Ms. Chen, one of the plaintiffs who filed her lawsuit with both the Supreme Court and Supreme Procuratorate in China, said she and other practitioners have benefited tremendously from Falun Gong.

“For more than 30 years, I suffered from skin diseases, thyroid inflammation, sore throats, and other health problems. I was often hospitalized with I.V's. But no Western medicine or Chinese therapies I tried worked for me.” Exhausted and depressed, she often spent time playing Mahjong or gambling to kill time.

Shortly after beginning to practice Falun Gong in 1999, her nightmare ended. Her health greatly improved, and so did her lifestyle. “I really like the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I became calmer and more considerate of others. When I encounter a conflict, I look within myself to see if I did anything inappropriate that caused the problem.

“When Jiang announced he was banning Falun Gong in July 1999, we were all confused: 'What was he doing? Why did he turn so many innocent, goodhearted people into enemies of the state?'"

Trusting in the government, Ms. Chen joined others going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in November 2000. She was arrested and detained in Beijing. When she was released and returned to Macau, her entry permit to mainland China was confiscated.

“Although Macau was returned to China in 1999, government officials were heavily influenced by Jiang's persecution policy and the communist party.” The police arrested practitioners who were doing peaceful meditation in a park on December 20, 1999, although they were released soon after.

The situation intensified during Jiang's visit in December 2000. Many practitioners were followed, harassed, and taken to police stations. The police also detained practitioners for a few hours for doing the exercises in public.

“Everyone who was mistreated during the persecution needs to sue Jiang, because the suppression of Falun undermines the founding principles of this society. And the severe human rights violations against innocent practitioners, especially live organ harvesting, are crimes against humanity,” said Ms. Chen.
