(Minghui.org) The wife of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Liwu has filed a criminal complaint against former CCP leader Jiang Zemin, seeking the release of her husband. Mr. Chen was tried on fabricated evidence and has been incarcerated since March 2014.

The defendant, Mr. Chen Liwu, an electrical engineer from Tangshan, Shandong, remains detained without a judge's verdict at Tangshan Detention Center since his arrest in March 2014.

In order to rescue Mr. Chen and seek justice for him, his wife Ms. Wang Yaxin filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin for ordering the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang demanded the unconditional release of her husband, the return of all personal belongings taken when their home was ransacked, and compensation for the mental anguish, physical trauma, and financial losses suffered by her family.

“We don't know anything about his current situation. We don't know how much torture he has suffered in the detention center. I'm really worried about him,” Ms. Wang stated in the complaint.

During his trial, it was reported that Mr. Chen's attorney delivered a powerful defense that the judge and prosecutors were unable to refute. The judge promised to deliver a verdict within ten days, yet that has not been forthcoming.

During the past 15 months of his detention, Mr. Chen's case was rejected three times by the procuratorate, citing insufficient evidence. The police, however, were determined to charge him. They fabricated more evidence and submitted Mr. Chen's case to the procuratorate a fourth time in December 2014, and it was finally accepted.

According to Mr. Chen's lawyer who reviewed his case documents, some evidence contradicted other evidence that was submitted. Two reports of the home ransacking were submitted on the same morning by two different police teams, but neither contained the required signatures.

“This is clearly a false case. The police arrested my client first, and then fabricated the evidence to charge him.” the lawyer said.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
