A Different Graduation Celebration: Falun Dafa Week at National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan
(Minghui.org) The Class of 2015 at National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan received a unique congratulations on the eve of commencing a new chapter in life: The Falun Dafa Society was hosting a Falun Dafa Week consisting of an art exhibition, a Han couture fashion show and opportunity to try on traditional garments, a film screening, and many more events leading up to the graduation ceremony on June 12.
The rich offerings attracted a lot of students and faculty members. Many international students also partook of the events.
Fernando Ojeda and Julio Mayor, two professors from America, had rave reviews of the paintings displayed in the Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truth, Compassion, Tolerance) International Exhibition. They also learned the Falun Dafa meditation and commented on the peacefulness and tranquility they experienced.
They signed the petition to call for ending the forced organ harvesting in China—the Chinese communist regime's killing of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience for their organs.
Lina from Germany also signed the petition. “People in Taiwan and mainland China share similar ethnic backgrounds. I hope that the mainland will respect freedom of belief, just like Taiwan does,” she said.
An exchange student from Mainland China viewed the photo exhibit and changed the negative view of Falun Dafa that she had developed as a result of the communist propaganda. She remarked, “Falun Dafa is good! I didn't know that.”
Several Falun Dafa Society members also shared their stories with visitors.
Wen Xin, also with the Business School, volunteers at a student organization that helps middle school students improve their academic performance. She learned to teach the children according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance after she started practicing Falun Dafa.
