(Minghui.org) Master said,
“... the whole process of cultivation is a process of constantly getting rid of human attachments … you have no way to cultivate if you don't know the Law at high levels, and if you don't cultivate inward, if you don't cultivate your character, your gong won't increase.” (Zhuan Falun)
During the early days of our cultivation, most of us were very earnest and adhered to the fundamental requirements of Falun Dafa. We were alert to our xinxing problems, looked inward during conflicts, and identified attachments to ensure that we were in line with the Fa.
After some time, however, some of us have started to ignore the fundamentals and pay more attention to superficial things.
They tell others how many books a certain practitioner read in a day or how many people a day another practitioner helped to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They talk about how many Falun Dafa flyers a practitioner handed out daily. In their opinion, these are practitioners who cultivate really well.
In my understanding, it does not matter how many books one reads or how much effort one puts into Dafa projects; those are just aspects of cultivation.
A Dafa disciple who truly cultivates well takes the Fa as the Teacher at all times, evaluates his or her own words and actions against the Fa, and looks inward during conflicts. These are the cultivation fundamentals that will never change.
Of course, he also actively participates in efforts to save sentient beings.
