Additional Persecution News from China – March 28, 2015 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Chu Lianrong Driven to Mental Disorder

Mr. Chu Lianrong was arrested by officers, including Captain Zhang Pengfei from the local Domestic Security Division, in November 2014. He was released on March 24, 2015, after being held in the Chengde Detention Center for approximately three months. Because of the persecution there, he was driven to a mental disorder, and his body was covered with wounds. He now has difficulty eating and drinking, and does not recognize anyone.

2. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Liu Zongyu Arrested

Mr. Liu Zongyu was arrested at a railway station on March 23, 2015, when he was traveling to his home town to visit his parents.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Shimin and Ms. Zhang Arrested

Ms. Li Shimin and Ms. Zhang were arrested by officers from the Xiyuzhuang Police Station on March 23, 2015, for trying to rescue Ms. Deng Xiaofen. The police ransacked their homes.

4. [Qingyun County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Qingmei’s Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Xu Qingmei and another elderly practitioner were arrested by officers from the Xuyuanzi Police Station on March 25, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The elderly practitioner was released that evening, but Ms. Xu’s whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Mujie Detained

Ms. Zhang Mujie, 59, was arrested on March 24, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being detained at the Xicheng Detention Center.

6. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guan Manhua Detained

Ms. Guan Manhua, in her fifties, was arrested by officers from the Shizhong District Police Department on March 17, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Mengzhuang Township Police Station. The police ransacked her home and confiscated approximately 200 yuan in cash, along with Falun Gong books. She is being detained at the Yuelou Detention Center.

7. [Yulin City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Yang Wei and Mr. Li Heng Arrested

Mr. Yang Wei and Mr. Li Heng were arrested and taken to the Yulin City No. 1 Detention Center on January 14, 2015.

8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Kuifu Detained

Mr. Zhang Kuifu was arrested by officers from the Huantai County Police Department in Zibo City on the morning of March 21, 2015. The police ransacked his home and confiscated his laptop computer, printer, cutter, CDs, ink, tape, Falun Gong books, and other materials. He is being detained in Huantai County, and his family is not allowed to visit him.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Du Longping Imprisoned

Ms. Du Longping, sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Zhongshan Court, was taken to Liaoning Women's Prison on March 24, 2015.

10. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Xinping Detained

Mr. Zhang Xinping, 54, arrested on June 22, 2014, was later sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Jingkou Court. He was taken to the Suzhou Prison.

11. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Xiuqiang Sentenced

Mr. Zhang Xiuqiang, arrested on July 9, 2014, was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Boxing County Court in January 2015. He was later taken to the Jinan Prison in Shandong Province.

12. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Detained and One Arrested

Mr. Pan Qingning, Ms. Pan Xiaoqin, Ms. Tang Jingmei, and Ms. Xie Lihua were arrested on the evening of March 23, 2015. Ms. Pan was taken to a hotel due to high blood pressure, and the three others are taken to a detention center.

13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Yongmao Detained and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Sun Yongmao and his wife were arrested at home at noon on March 24, 2015. Mr. Sun's wife was released that evening but he was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center.

The day before, their home was ransacked by officers from the Erdao Township Police Station in Fengman District, and the police confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

14. [Beijing] Two Practitioners Detained and One Arrested

Ms. Gao Zhaohua, Ms. Liu Defen, and Ms. Ju were arrested at Ms. Gao’s home by officers from the Bajiao Police Station in Shijingshan District on March 10, 2015. Ms. Gao was released after being held at the Fangshan Detention Center for 15 days, and the other two are detained at the Shijingshan Detention Center.
