Additional Persecution News from China – March 30, 2015 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zhiqiang Remains in Custody

For his belief in Falun Gong, Mr. Li Zhiqiang was again arrested by the domestic security division on March 13, 2014. He was tried on September 19, 2014 and held in a detention center. During his detention, his wife and son, who is in college, went to various departments several times demanding his release. They were threatened, intimidated, beaten, verbally abused, or taken into custody. As a result, his wife suffered a mental breakdown. Her weight dropped from more than 140 lbs to only about 90 lbs.

2. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Xinglan and Ms. Li Zhimin Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xinglan and Ms. Li Zhimin were arrested and body-searched by plainclothes police officers on the afternoon of March 23, 2015. The police ransacked their homes the following morning.

3. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Mintao Arrested

Mr. Zhang Mintao from the Chaoyang District was arrested when he went out with his wife and daughter on the evening of March 27, 2015. He was taken to the Hepingjie Police Station then to his hometown, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Xinying Taken to Shenyang Women's Prison

Ms. Liu Xinying was arrested at home on September 23, 2014. She was tried at the Dalian Zhongshan Court and sentenced to five and a half years in prison on September 29. Her husband Mr. Qu Hui died last year as result of being persecuted. Her adolescent daughter is alone at home. Her family learned on March 26, 2015 that Ms. Liu was taken to Shenyang Women's Prison and was extremely weak.

5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yu Yaou Taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center

Mr. Yu Yaou was taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center, Foshan City, Guangdong Province on March 27, 2015. He was severely abused by the Guilin Domestic Security Division and the Guilin Brainwashing Center. He was harassed many times by the Jinan 610 Office in Shandong Province and the Guangzhou 610 Office. The South China Botanical Garden, a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, deprived him from presenting an oral defense of his doctoral dissertation.

6. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Shuqing, Ms. Li Shuiqin, and Ms. Zhong Zixiu were arrested by officers from the Chengxi Police Station around March 20, 2015 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Jiuquan City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhao Jinying Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Zhao Jinying was sentenced to three years in prison.

8. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Lianqiu Detained for 19 Months

Ms. Sun Lianqiu, 39, from the Gaoqiao Town, Nanpiao District, was displaced, as a result of the persecution, and had to work at odd jobs out of town.

She was arrested at home by the Gaoqiao Police Station on the evening of August 8, 2013. Her home was ransacked. She has been held in the Huludao City Detention Center for over 19 months.

9. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Hu Liangsheng and a young practitioner with the last name Wan, from Macheng City, Hubei Province, were arrested in Xin County, Xinyang City for telling people about Falun Gong on March 25, 2015. Both practitioners were transferred to another facility in Xinyang City.

10. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Cuihua Detained

Ms. Wang Cuihua was arrested and taken to the police department by the city domestic security division on the morning of March 29, 2015 for telling others about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and took cash, Falun Dafa books, and DVDs containing Falun Gong information. She is being held in the city detention center.

11. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lian Suping Detained

Ms. Lian Suping was arrested by officers from the Zhangluji Town Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong on the morning of March 28, 2015. She was taken to the Liaocheng City Detention Center that afternoon.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] List of Practitioners Held in Shenyang Women's Prison

Ms. Qu Shumei, 52, was arrested in December 2012 and sentenced to six years in prison.Ms. Liu Xinying, 45, was arrested in September 2013 and sentenced to five and a half years.Ms. Liu Zuona, 52, was arrested in February 2013 and sentenced to four years.Ms. Zhang Xiaoli, about 30, was arrested in April 2013 and sentenced to seven and a half years.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Suqiong Missing

Ms. Liu Suqiong went missing around the 2014 Chinese New Year (January 31, 2014). No one has heard anything about her since.

14. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Shunmei Arrested and Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Yang Shunmei, 56, from Xiaotun Village, Sijiqing Township, Haidian District, was arrested by the Sijiqing Police Department on the evening of March 27, 2015. The police searched her home and took Falun Gong books and informational materials, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and a recorder with built-in transistor radio. Ms. Yang's whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Muling City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Yongsheng and Mr. Zheng Guanglin Detained

Officers from the Muling City 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the No. 1 Police Station broke into Mr. Li Yongsheng's home on the afternoon of March 16, 2015. They arrested Mr. Li and Mr. Zheng Guanglin, who was visiting the family. The officers took a computer, a printer, and a few thousand yuan in cash. They also took 1,200 yuan in cash from Mr. Zheng and his car. Both practitioners are held in the Bamiantong Detention Center.
