(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners were arrested during a wave of arrests, including practitioner A from our study group. We helped A's family to rescue her, but she was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison.

Practitioner A was brainwashed, deprived of sleep, and forced to perform hard labor. Her health deteriorated, and during a family visit she was unable to stand or speak shortly after the visit started. Several guards carried her back to her cell. Her family requested a physical checkup.

Failure of First Rescue Attempt Because of Human Notions

We cooperated on our first rescue attempt of A. Some practitioners wrote letters to the prison and some helped A's family deal with prison officials.

Since A's family wanted an immediate release, they were affected by strong human notions when they talked to the prison guards. Their words were not based on the principles of the Fa.

A's husband, who is not a practitioner, tried different approaches. He contacted people he knew, but nothing worked. In the end, our efforts backfired and even the visits to A were no longer permitted.

Fellow practitioners shared their thoughts. We realized that we used ordinary people's ways to get her released. It was wrong to attempt a rescue without the mighty power of the Fa. That was why we failed.

Visits Restored

We were involved in the rescue of practitioner B two months later. B told us about a dream in which she saw that many people walked out of the prison's gate. Someone pointed at one of the people and said, “Her name is A.” We told her that we knew A and I said, “That's great. It was a hint from Master. He encouraged us to continue in our rescue efforts!”

All of us agreed that we must be guided by the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts on a large scale. We then decided to visit practitioner A and encourage her to continue her belief in Master and the Fa.

At the prison we were allowed to drive into the parking lot, something usually not permitted. Master again encouraged us.

We saw A, told her of other practitioners that were rescued successfully, and encouraged her to negate the old forces arrangements.

Demanding Unconditional Release

All agreed that A's family should demand her unconditional release. At the prison we asked to meet with the officials. We were not allowed to enter the prison, but the division head and a guard came and talked to us near the entrance. They asked A's husband what he wanted and he asked that she be released on medical parole. However, he said he did not have the funds for a medical examination.

This was not what we had agreed upon. The division head then turned to me and asked what it was that we wanted. This was a hint from Master. Therefore, I told him that we wanted to take her home.

The guard sneered and said that it was impossible. I thought of Master's teachings:

“If the heavens want to have something change, nobody can stop it.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital”)

Another practitioner told them that the prison would be responsible if anything happened to A. She was still not released and we returned home

We shared on our return and everyone had a different opinion of what should be done. Some thought that we should clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the guards instead of beating around the bush. In the end we realized we had to do better in all regards.

A few days later we visited the prison again. Some practitioners stayed in the car and sent forth righteous thoughts. Other practitioners were near the prison or at home to send righteous thoughts. The field was strong and the battle between righteousness and evil helped fellow practitioners get rid of fear and improve the group coordination. We realized that Master was guiding us, so we became more confident.

The head of the prison and the guard we had met before talked to us again. We told them about Falun Gong and kept good thoughts in our minds. After a while we had changed the hostile environment. They looked more peaceful and agreed to report A's case to the higher authorities.

Facing a Run Around

We went back to the prison with A's family a few days later. A guard told us that A was not eating and asked the family to advise her to eat. The officials said that they refused to accept responsibility if she did not eat.

In the prison hospital we saw that A was in a coma. Her son said, “How do we tell her to eat if she is in a coma?” We asked that the head of the prison release her. The guard said that according to the doctor she was not in danger. She was then unable to contact the head of the prison and asked us to leave.

On our return home, we arranged for fellow practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts around the clock.

We accompanied the family to the prison on the following Monday, but we could not talk to the head of the prison. Instead we talked to a 610 Office staff member, who also gave us the run around.

None of us left and the division head and a guard showed up around 11 a.m. After some back and forth and rudeness by the division head, we told her that we wanted to take A home. The standstill continued, and after some time we just pushed our way into the prison and to the prison head's office.

After some more back and forth we went to see the official of the prison administration office. After he read our letter, he said that he would investigate, and if what we said was true, he would ask the prison officials to release A.

Persistence and Cooperation Resulted in Release

It took many days before we heard from the prison, and the practitioner from A's family could not calm down and was unable to study the Fa. She called me and wanted to talk. Master's words, “Doing, but without pursuit” (“Abiding in the Dao” from Hong Yin) came to my mind. She finally calmed down and tried to get rid of the attachment of sentimentality.

Another of A's family members, also a practitioner, got involved. She did not understand why we could not get A released. But she realized how important it was to cooperate as a group, so she let go of fear and decided to participate in this rescue project.

We sent righteous thoughts around the clock for many days and fellow practitioners encouraged each other via emails. More and more practitioners joined the project.

A's home is located across from a police station. At the beginning, some practitioners did not want to go to A's home, but after a while no one hesitated.

Finally, A's family was told that they could go through the release process in the related judiciary department. With the documents in hand, A's family went to get her released. The prison claimed they needed to a few days before they could release her.

We returned to the prison in the morning, and after much delay due to documentation requirements, A was released in the early evening.

She had been without food or drink for 45 days, yet her face glowed with a healthy color. The extraordinary mighty power of the Fa was manifested in her.
