(Minghui.org) Volunteers from service centers for quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) all over the world make phone calls to China every day, informing people about the Party's atrocities, such as the persecution of Falun Gong. They encourage members of the CCP or its affiliated organizations to take an upright stance by renouncing the Party, believing this will bring them a safer and better future.
Ms. Dong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Canada, makes phone calls to China for two hours every day and often helps dozens of people quit the Party each day by submitting their names (or alias) to a website that records the withdrawals. Many of them quit as a family or a group of friends. She has even encountered high level CCP officials who wished to quit the Party. Below are stories of such encounters that took place during the Chinese New Year.
Central Departmental Official: “You Are Truly Doing a Good Thing!”
“Happy Chinese New Year! I want to tell you something very important: “You will have a safe future if you quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations,” said Ms. Dong, greeting the person who answered the phone. The other end was silent. Ms. Dong didn't give up and began to talk about why members of the CCP should renounce their memberships. Still, silence.
Ms. Dong asked whether the person was a CCP member and finally the man answered, “How can I not be a member if I am a central departmental official?”
The man suddenly became talkative, “I am glad to get your call today. Normally I wouldn't listen to unknown callers. I don't know why, but today I listened to you carefully and am glad I did. I like to listen to you because you care. You are truly doing a good thing! In today's China, nobody cares about others, except you Falun Gong practitioners.”
When Ms. Dong offered to help him quit the CCP and its affiliates with an alias, he happily agreed.
A Family of Five Quits the Party
A woman and her husband were on the phone listening to Ms. Dong talk about the CCP and the crimes it committed against the Chinese people. They readily agreed to renounce the Party. The woman then said, “Our son and two daughters are here eating with us. Please help them quit the CCP too.”
“Come Visit Me When You Are in China”
A woman in Shanghai was happy to receive Chinese New Year greetings from Ms. Dong. She gladly quit the Party after listening to Ms. Dong and said that she had heard about the movement of quitting the CCP.
Touched to find that Ms. Dong was calling from Canada, she said, “If you ever come back to China, you must come to Shanghai to visit. Call this number and I will pick you up from the subway.”
Quitting the Party at a New Year Reunion
A man quit the party after he carefully listened to Ms. Dong. He gave Ms. Dong another phone number, “Could you call me back at this number in five minutes?” When Ms. Dong called back, she heard a lot of noise in the background. The man was celebrating the Chinese New Year with his family and friends. He told Ms. Dong that she was on a speaker phone and asked her to explain to everyone why they should quit the CCP. Six more people declared their withdrawals.
A Couple Records the Message to Share with Others
A woman picked up the phone and warned Ms. Dong, “I get these kinds of calls a lot. I won't listen to you.” However, she didn't hang up the phone.
Ms. Dong told her about the CCP officials who actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong and how they subsequently lost their power in political struggles. Ms. Dong encouraged her to quit the CCP for her own safety.
Her husband took the phone and asked Ms. Dong to tell him more. When Ms. Dong talked about the movement of quitting the CCP, the husband said that he'd heard of it before but didn't think much about it.
The wife asked Ms. Dong to keep going and that she was recording the conversation so that she could play it for others. They asked many questions and finally the husband said, “This time we have decided to quit the Party. Thank you.”
