(Minghui.org) I was greatly inspired by watching a Shen Yun performance DVD in 2008, and began distributing them often. I also thought about taking advantage of my home to tell people about the persecution of Falun Gong. I would like to share with you some stories over the years.
My home is near the entrance of a busy market, facing a main crossroad. The front yard has a bench, surrounded by flowers and trees. As weary travelers take a seat on the bench for a breather, I often come out to talk to them about Falun Gong.
I greet people who are resting on the bench and tell them about the persecution. I also invite them to come in to watch Shen Yun, a Chinese music and classical dance performance. When a vehicle breaks down near my home, I would bring the driver and repairman something to drink, chat about the persecution, and offer them a Shen Yun DVD.
I have also witnessed the positive changes that Shen Yun has brought to my friends.
A mute beggar once came to my home, hungry and tired. I fed him a good meal and showed the Shen Yun video to him. When he left, he was able to utter some words of thanks.
I often invite my friends and neighbors over to watch Shen Yun. Some of them have started practicing Falun Gong, and others have recovered from their ailments after repeatedly reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Almost all who watched Shen Yun have withdrawn from the CCP and related organizations.
An elderly lady from a nearby village came to the market one day. After she learned about Falun Gong, she brought her daughter in that afternoon and asked to watch Shen Yun.
As we were watching Shen Yun, the head of the local police station came in. He had learned about the persecution and why it was illegal, so he turned around and walked away.
This gave me the chance to turn the TV off, as he walked in with another man. He introduced him as the new secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. The new secretary looked around and saw my poem on the wall, which was about my cultivation experience. He chatted with me for a while in a friendly way and left. The ladies and I resumed watching Shen Yun.
The supervisor of a road crew came from the city to fix our road. He was deeply moved by the Shen Yun performance and immediately withdrew from the Chinese Communist Party. He also said that he would tell his relatives and friends about the persecution and the benefits of renouncing their Party memberships. He was delighted to take a copy of Shen Yun DVD and Falun Gong informational material.
Over the years, I have persevered in daily exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts and studying the Fa. My thoughts are constantly on saving people. My genuine smile and sincerity make it easy to start a conversation.
Shen Yun has been performing daily on “stage” in my home throughout the Chinese New Year Holiday this year. Waves and waves of new audiences have come and gone.
When they came to wish us a Happy New Year, they received the best blessing: Shen Yun! Its Chinese classical dance and music continue to resonate with and reach out to folks from all walks of life.
