Additional Persecution News from China – February 4, 2015 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 3 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Bazhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Qingwen Under Surveillance

The Bazhou City Police Department instigated the Chengxi Police Station to put Mr. Sun Qingwen under surveillance on December 18, 2014. He was not allowed to meet or communicate with others. He was told to surrender his passport, and travel documents, his ID card, and driver's license.

2. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Mr. Yan Ganzhou Arrested

Mr. Yan Ganzhou from Dahe Town, Huangmei County was reported while distributing Falun Gong informational materials and talking with people about Falun Gong on January 29, 2015. That afternoon he was arrested at home by the Dahe Town Police Station. He was taken to the Huangmei County Detention Center.

3. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Cuifang and Nine Other Practitioners Sentenced

The Qinzhou District Court in Tianshui City sentenced Ms. Li Cuifang and nine other practitioners to prison on September 25, 2014. The practitioners have appealed the illegal sentencing to the Tianshui City Intermediate Court.

4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yuhuan and Mr. Liu Hailin Arrested

Ms.Jiang Yan's parents Ms. Li Yuhuan and Mr. Jiang Lihua, from the Zhangdian District, went to the Zibo City 610 Office on the morning of January 29, 2015 demanding the release of their daughter. The 610 Office told the Zhangdian District Domestic Security Division to arrest the couple. Officers from the Zhangdian Domestic Security Division coordinated with Xiliu Road Police Station to carry out the arrest. Mr. Jiang was taken back home by the officers, who ransacked the place. They confiscated more than 100 copies of Falun Dafa books, Minghui Weekly, and other items.

Ms. Liu Hailin happened to be visiting the couple, and she was also arrested.

Mr. Jiang, 73, was taken to a detention center, where he was denied admission. After his release, the Domestic Security Division arranged the Xiyuan residential committees to put him under surveillance.

Ms. Li and Ms. Liu have remained in custody.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lin Zhen Arrested

Ms. Lin Zhen from Chengdu City was arrested on January 30, 2015 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. She is being held in the Anjing Town Detention Center, Pi County, Chengdu City.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Congxiu Arrested

Three officers from the Hanting District Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Xu Congxiu's home in the Xinzhuang area, Hanting District, on February 2, 2015. They ransacked the place and confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, a copy of Zhuan Falun, a copy of Essentials for Further Advancement, a copy of Recent Writings, and more than 100 amulets. Mr. Xu, in his 60s, was arrested and taken to the Weifang City Detention Center. He has been released and is back at home.

7. [Chongqing] Mr. Fei Mingyan Harassed

A police officer with the last name Tu, from Wanshuoqiao Village, the Beibei District, Chongqing, phoned Mr. Fei Mingyan's relative and asked where he works and wanted his work phone number. The officer then called Mr. Fei.

Mr. Fei has been persecuted many times. He was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and later sentenced to three years of forced labor. He also spent six years in prison for telling people about Falun Gong. He finally returned home a year ago, but the police have repeatedly harassed him.
