(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhu Shuyun was brutally beaten at the Jilin Province Women's Prison, where she is serving a three-year term for practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhu described the scenario to her family in January. She also told them that she would be face danger if the guards didn't allow further family visits. The guard immediately cut off their phone conversation.

Ms. Zhu's family went to visit her on February 2. Ms. Zhu, who was already in the visiting area, was taken back to her cell before they could see each other.

Ms. Zhu, 53, was arrested at home by several plainclothes officers on March 4, 2014. The officers beat her during the arrest. They then tied up her legs and carried her downstairs.

Police took Ms. Zhu to the Changchun City Police Department, where six officers beat her and slammed her head against the wall. They also tortured her with the “tiger bench.”

Ms. Zhu was transferred to the Changchun City No. 3 Detention Center. She was unable to walk, had chest pain, and vomited blood. She was also unable to swallow food and could take only liquids.

Prior Arrest and Forced Labor

Ms. Zhu was arrested on May 9, 2007 and held in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for a year. In the camp, the guards beat and force-fed her in addition to forcing her to perform hard labor.

As a result, she contracted diabetes, developed serious heart problems and a lung infection, and was malnourished. She had severe anemia, and a doctor couldn't draw any blood from her veins. When her condition became critical, the camp released her on June 4, 2008.
