Sichuan Practitioner Pan Xiaoping Sentenced to Prison

(Minghui.org) Shifang City court sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Pan Xiaoping (潘晓萍) to a 30 months prison term during a secret trial on November 13, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Pan was arrested on July 3, 2015. The police gave her 15-days of administrative detention without any legal process. Police showed Ms. Pan’s husband a criminal detention statement on July 15 and told him to sign it. After he refused, police transferred her to the Shifang Detention Center. Without informing her family, the court delivered the sentence against Ms. Pan.

A History of Persecution

Ms. Pan has served one year of forced labor and been given five administrative detentions, one criminal detention, and 39 days in a brainwashing center. Her house was ransacked twice, and she suffered some monetary losses. She has also been followed and monitored by police over the years.

When clarifying the truthto people about Falun Gong publicly, she was photographed by police in July 8, 2008. The photo appeared in a local paper the next day. Police followed her for several days before they arrested her.

While she listened to the audio recording of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at home in 2009, an informant called the police. She was forced into hiding to avoid another arrest.

Then, she was held for 39 days in a brainwashing center in Guanghan City in June 2011. After her release, she rented a three-wheeled motorcycle and used that as a taxi for earning an income. A stranger came to her taxi on December 21, 2011. When she talked to him about Falun Gong, the man recorded her conversation. He turned out to work undercover for the police, and was assigned to collect evidence for future court trials of Ms. Pan.
