Four Arrested for Printing Flyers about the Persecution of Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) Four Falun Gong practitioners in Changsha, Hunan Province were arrested between December 4 and 8, 2015, for producing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. A fifth practitioner escaped the arrest, but had to leave home to hide from the police.

According to a source, the police monitored the practitioners' phone and internet use for several months before arresting them, and it's likely that they are in the process of submitting trumped up cases to the procuratorate in an attempt to get the practitioners sentenced.

The four practitioners, all in their 50s and 60s, are currently detained in the Changsha No. 4 Detention Center.

The Police Raid

Ms. Qin Sunan

Officials from the Tianxin District Domestic Security Division and Jinpenling Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Qin Sunan around 10 p.m. on December 4. They spent about four hours ransacking her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and materials, computer, printers, and tens of thousands of yuan in cash. The items confiscated from her home filled more than two police cars.

The police interrogated Ms. Qin and her husband overnight at Jinpenling Police Station. Ms. Qin's husband, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner, was released the next day. Ms. Qin was transferred to Changsha No.4 Detention Center.

More than 20 officers from Tianxin District Domestic Security Division and Xinkaipu Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Shuangmei's home about an hour earlier that same day. Ms. Liu wasn't at home and escaped arrest. The police confiscated her computer, printer, and Falun Gong books and materials.

Around 8 p.m. on December 7, two groups of more than 10 officers from Yuhua District Domestic Security Division and Jingwanzi Police Station raided both Ms. Wang Changjing and Ms. Zhen Ziping's homes. They confiscated their computers, printers, and Falun Gong materials.

Ms. Wang and her daughter were detained overnight at Jingwanzi Police Station. Ms. Wang's daughter was taken to Tiaomafa Brainwashing Center and detained there for one more day before the police released her. Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhen were later taken to Changsha No.4 Detention Center.

The fourth practitioner, Ms. Tang Min, a university library employee, was arrested on her way home on December 8.

Ms. Tang has been arrested several times and persecuted at brainwashing centers and mental hospitals over the past 16 years for not giving up Falun Gong.
