(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Melbourne, Australia participated in the annual celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival held in Box Hill, home to a multicultural population, including many Chinese immigrants on September 6, 2014.
Locals and tourists alike had an opportunity to learn about Falun Gong and the persecution that the peaceful practice endures in China. Many signed a petition against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) state-sanctioned crimes of forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
They were also informed of the global quitting the CCP movement. Dozens of Chinese declared their withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organizations during the one-day event.

Rory O'Brien, an expert who used to engage in animal research, signed the petition against the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Gong, but he found it inconceivable why the regime persecutes such a peaceful practice. A practitioner explained to him that the Party rules with lies and violence, which goes against the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that Falun Gong practitioners live by. The persecution stems from the Party's evil nature.
After Mr. O'Brien understood the true situation, and the tremendous effects of Falun Gong in improving practitioners' physical and mental well-being, he expressed his desire to learn Falun Gong.
Many local Chinese stopped by the practitioners' quitting-the-CCP center to get informational materials, and nearly 70 people asked a practitioner to help them renounce their Party memberships during the one-day event.
A Chinese man who passed by the practitioners' quitting-the-CCP center initially did not pay attention to what was going on, but a practitioner's explanation about the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party caught his attention. He accepted the book and DVD from a practitioner.
An older Chinese person, who had been misled by the CCP's lies and propaganda for years, understood the CCP for what it is after he heard a practitioner explain how brutal the Party is in persecuting Chinese people and peaceful Falun Gong practitioners. He expressed his appreciation for the practitioners' efforts before he left.
