Detained for Four Days Without Food or Water
(Minghui.org) Ms. Ye Huiming, a teacher at the Xinxiang City Judicial Officials School, was illegally detained on the morning of July 15, 2014. She was arrested by three plainclothes officers while doing her morning shopping. She was taken to the police station after being frisked. The police then broke into and ransacked her home. They confiscated personal belongings including a laptop computer, cell phones, some DVDs, Falun Gong books, and a photo of the founder of Falun Gong.
Ms. Ye was detained in the police station for four days. The temperature in the room reached as high as 34°C (93°F), but she was given nothing to eat or drink.
Ms. Ye was released on bail after leaders and colleagues from her school came to the police station to post bond on the evening of July 18. She was ordered to report back once a week. The police extorted 3,000 yuan from her, and said that they would keep her home key and medical care card. However, they refused to return her personal belongings and provided no receipt for the items taken.
Ms. Ye started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. She has been monitored, arrested, detained, and put into forced labor camps multiple times since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999.
Ms. Ye's husband, Mr. Xu Faling, is a doctor. He has been held in a forced labor camp twice since 1999. His latest arrest was in August 2010. He was sentenced to six and a half years in Zhengzhou Prison.
