Changing the Exercise Movements Is in Violation of the Fa

(Minghui.org) When Falun Dafa practitioners participate in local parades or demonstrate the exercises, our organizer said that everyone should start with his or her right hand in order to show uniformity in movement.

During sharing time after Fa study, one fellow practitioner said that it was wrong to change the exercise movements. At that time, I thought the organizer's objective was to make the exercises look good to the public. Furthermore, the problem could be solved by letting males and females stand on opposite sides facing one another. So, I didn't give the matter any further thought.

There was a demonstration of Dafa exercises during this year's July 20 activities. For the sitting exercise, the organizer asked that all practitioners keep their eyes open, along with a relaxed facial expression. Generally, the demonstration lasts for more than half an hour. I was there at the time, and when it was over I said to the organizer, “What you told us to do was not appropriate, because you should not alter any of the Dafa exercises.” He replied, “If you allow them to close their eyes, some practitioners might fall asleep which could hurt the image of Dafa,” and then commented that we weren't the only ones doing it this way.

I don't think this is an acceptable reason to alter Dafa's exercises. It is improper to adjust the exercises to fit a few practitioners, simply because they could not do the exercises correctly. Master said:

“Our Fa is solid like diamond and immutable. Under no circumstances and for no reason can anyone alter even a bit of the movements with which we are to reach Consummation. Otherwise, this person is undermining the Fa, regardless of whether his motives are good or not.”(“Immutable” from Essentials for Further Advancement)

I think we should realize that the harmonious field established by practitioners performing the exercises depends on us conforming to the Fa. If we depart from the Fa and focus on our appearance, we are not saving sentient beings.

It is the duty of every practitioner to protect an environment that conforms to the Fa and to point out any action that is in violation of this, so that we can improve together.
