(Minghui.org) I am 70 years old, and was wrongly sentenced to a ten-year prison term in 2001. While there, I met a Falun Dafa practitioner in 2005. I was lost, and Master saved me, and awakened my conscience. I am now bathed in Buddha's light. I do the three things every day with joy. I feel so blessed!
I Gained a New Life Because I Obtained the Fa in Prison
Before I went to prison, my second son and I had opened a small hotel. Business was not good, but officers from the police station were still jealous of us. They worked at trying to turn my son and me against each other. I didn't listen to them, but my son did. They instigated my son to beat me, and he took all the money we made from our business.
I was concerned that our business was not doing well. The boss of a nearby hotel introduced two girls to me that he thought would help us with public relations. The director of the local police station then asked me for money. I was sick at the time and needed to cover my medical expenses, so I did not give him any money. He then arrested me and put me in jail. I was to serve a ten-year sentence.
Whenever I was asked why I was in prison, I got very angry and cursed the police who imprisoned me. I was always angry and suffered from many ailments. I was not able to take care of myself. I lay in bed and thought of ways to get revenge on those who put me there. I thought that maybe after I was released, I would sue them. If that didn't work I would sell my apartment and hire someone to kill them, and then commit suicide. Every day my thoughts turned to hate and revenge.
Dong, a Falun Gong practitioner, was transferred to my cell in the spring of 2005. She told me about Falun Gong and said that if I learned it I would recover from all my ailments and be happy.
She taught me and other inmates to do the exercises. She taught us to recite Lunyu from the book Zhuan Falun. She then asked us to hand copy the book on pieces of paper, put them together, and read the book often. Every sentence of the book touched my heart. I treasured it and hid it inside my blanket. Because I couldn't get up and do the exercises, I read the book whenever possible. I became calmer and my hatred eased a bit.
Master pulled me back from my lost way and gave me a second life. I thank Master and Dafa.
Dafa helped me to understand cause and effect. Master said:
“In cultivation practice, there may be two scenarios when dealing with specific conflicts or when others treat you badly. One is that you might have treated this person badly in your previous life. You feel in your heart that it is unfair, 'How can this person treat me like this?' Then why did you treat this person that way in the past? You might claim that you actually did not know it at that time, and this life has nothing to do with the other life. That does not work.” (Zhuan Falun)
“Why do you encounter these problems? They are all caused by your own karma.” (Zhuan Falun)
When I read this lecture again and again, my mind and heart opened, and I no longer harbored any hatred. Somehow I wanted to thank those people who put me in prison.
I was transferred to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison shortly after, in August 2005. I was released on parole for medical treatment in February 2006, because I was not able to take care of myself.
The first thing I did when I got home was to get a copy of Zhuan Falun from the practitioners in my hometown. I read the Fa day and night every day at home. Master constantly purified my body. When I was able to move, I practiced the sets of exercises. I recovered from high blood pressure, heart disease, rheumatism, lumbar disc herniation, and sciatica. I was able to take care of myself and did not take any medicine. I was even able to walk up and down steps. No words could describe my gratitude to Master.
After I was out of prison, my son came to see me. He was afraid I would take revenge on him so he was not kind. I told him that I now practiced Falun Dafa, so I would not behave like him. When he saw that I was sincere, he was happy and agreed that Falun Dafa was really good. He is now kind to me and regrets his previous behavior. Every day he says "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good."
Clarifying the Truth and Saving Sentient Beings Every Day
I go out to clarify the truth and save sentient beings every morning, and in the afternoon I study the Fa. The first time I clarified the truth, nobody quit the Party. I shared my experience with fellow practitioners. The next day a fellow practitioner went out with me. She talked to people, and every one of them quit. She was knowledgeable and talked sensibly.
I went out with her for two days. She told me that there were articles about how to clarify the truth to people face to face published on Minghui Weekly. I read them, memorized them, and rehearsed at home. I brought pamphlets and amulets with me, and gave them out after I told people the facts about Falun Dafa. I had no fear. The more I talked to people, the more capable I became while clarifying the truth. One day over 20 people quit the Party and its affiliated organizations after listening to me. The same thing happened over the next few days.
I talked to three men in May who turned out to be plainclothes officers. They took me to the local police station and then to the detention center. I thought that no matter where I was, I would save sentient beings. They left me with an official, and I clarified the truth to him. He said, “I know more than you. I have read Zhuan Falun.” I asked him to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He said he already had, because practitioners had helped him. Another police officer asked him if they should treat me well or poorly. He answered, “Well.” The officer asked why. He said, "What crime has she committed? None!"
There were six practitioners in the detention center. We sent forth righteous thoughts every day and clarified the truth to people whenever we had the opportunity. Forty-six people quit the Party. I was released 15 days later.
I started to talk to a middle-aged man one day at the local market, to clarify the facts. He took out his ID and said that he was from the 610 Office. I told him that whatever he did didn't matter, as I was there to save his life. He wanted to know more, so we found an empty spot on the side of the road to stop and chat. I told him about the causal relationship of natural disasters and the man-made calamities, about the prophecies, the corruption of the CCP, how the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners, and why people had to quit the Party. I also advised him not to participate in persecuting practitioners, so he could be blessed. He said he understood and asked for my help to withdraw from the CCP.
I then met a judge. I clarified the truth to him and asked him to withdraw from the CCP. He declined, and did not want to listen to me anymore, claiming that he didn't believe anything I said. A month later he came to my home. I tried to give him a copy of the Nine Commentaries, but he said that he had already read it. I asked him to withdraw from the CCP, and he agreed, and asked if I could help his family quit as well. I told him that his family had to agree, and he said that he would talk to them when he got home. I was pleasantly surprised that he had such a change of heart so quickly. I asked him to remember “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He assured me he would and would tell his family to remember it also.
A lady in her forties sat in a rice stall every day at a market in the residential area where I live. Her hands were sore and partially numb. She was not able to hold anything. I clarified the truth to her and she believed it completely and made the three withdrawals. I let her borrow a copy of the Nine Commentaries and Zhuan Falun. I told her that when she finished reading the two books and believed them in her heart, she would recover from her ailments. She read the books and recovered completely. She now has her own business, and tells everyone that she recovered because she read Zhuan Falun and the Nine Commentaries.
I may be behind some diligent practitioners, and have not fulfilled all of Master's requirements, but I will catch up. I will study the Fa more, be more diligent in doing the three things to save more sentient beings, and try to be worthy of Master's saving grace.
