(Minghui.org) As the only Chinese-American entry, Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the Evanston Independence Day parade for the 14th consecutive year. Evanston is a northern suburb of Chicago, and is the home of Northwestern University.

This year's Falun Dafa entry was led by a flag squadron, followed by a colorful float and Tang drum performance.

Ms. Xiao, representative of the Falun Dafa group, was especially proud of the giant pink lotus flower on the float: “We have been taking part in the parade for many years. We try to be creative each year. Therefore, we have done a lot of work on the design and production of the float, factoring in the local weather and other elements.

“We don't mind the work, including rehearsing the drum performance, because we are appreciative of the freedom of belief we can enjoy on this land. We would like to showcase the beauty of Falun Dafa and share our joy in wishing America a happy birthday!”

Mr. Zhao from Henan Province, China captured the Falun Dafa entry in the parade with his camera.

This was the 93rd Independence Day parade in the city of Evanston. Practitioners have been invited back every year ever since they won first prize in 2001.
