(Minghui.org) As the whole country celebrated liberty on Canada Day, many Chinese residents in Toronto joined the movement to quit the Chinese Communist Party, the largest tyrant power in the world.

After performing at the Canada Day parade in Niagara Falls in the morning, the Falun Gong Divine Lane Marching Band, drove back to Scarborough, Toronto, for the parade at 4pm. The Falun Gong waist drum team also participate in the afternoon parade.

Falun Gong practitioners not only brought Chinese culture to the parade, which aimed to demonstrate the Canadian spirit of freedom and multiculturalism, but also helped local Chinese residents to formally renounce their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party.

Mr. Zhang, owner of a wholesale T-shirt business, has lived in Toronto for 27 years. He seen the Falun Gong group's marching band perform many times. “They are getting larger and better each year,” Mr. Zhang said.

“I came to Canada in 1987. In China, I was a project leader at an international commercial company. I saw a lot of corruption in China, and felt there was no hope for society. I knew that the Chinese Communist Party was headed for destruction.”

“Looking back, I am glad I decided to come to Canada. This is a free society, very different than China,” Mr. Zhang said. “Falun Gong practitioners have freedom here. I see them in many parades every year. They can do whatever they want, which is impossible in China. The Communist Party suppresses everything that it doesn't like. The Party is evil, and that is why it will crash sooner and later.”

Mr. Zhang talked to Falun Gong practitioners for a long time, and decided to quit the Communist Youth League using his real name. He also expressed interest in learning Falun Gong.

Seventy-year old Ms. Zhou, a Falun Gong waist drum team member, was surprised when she ran into her former neighbors at the parade. The elderly couple, from Liaoning Province, China, lived next-door to Ms. Zhou ten years ago when they first came to Canada. After moving several times, Ms. Zhou lost contact with them.

“They recognized me. We were excited to see each other again,” Mr. Zhou said. “We talked for a long time. I told them the facts of the persecution in China, and encouraged them them to quit the Party. They both quit the Party with their real names.”

“It was predestined that we ran into each other today,” Mr. Zhou said. “They will move away from Scarborough tomorrow. I am glad that they had this chance to quit the Party.”

Mr. Geng and his wife watched the parade with their kids. Ms. Geng took a lot of pictures of the Falun Gong procession. “They are the best in the parade every year,” she said. “We are so happy to see them every year. ”

“They enjoy freedom here in Canada. We have seen Falun Gong in many community events.”
