Additional Persecution News from China – July 18, 2014 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Ma Shujun Detained

Ms. Ma Shujun from Pingdingshan City was arrested at the Mianchi Train Station by officers from the Railway Police Station of Mianchi when she was traveling to visit her younger sister in Mianchi County in early July 2014. Ms. Ma was taken to the Pingdingshan Police Department that afternoon.

2. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Mr. Fu Guihua Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

3. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Seven Arrested

Officers from the Kunminglu Police Station Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Yuan Guangwu and his wife Ms. Zhang Cuicui, Mr. Song Zhi, Mr. Feng Xincheng, Mr. Zhang Xianbin, and Ms. Yang Yuanyun and her husband Mr. Liu (not a practitioner). They are being held in the Kunminglu Police Station.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Wu Jinyu Detained

Ms. Wu Jinyu from Zhuolu County in Zhangjiakou City went to Beijing on May 13, 2014, and was arrested by Beijing police. She is now in the Qilixiang Detention Center in the Changping District.

5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Suyun Detained

Ms. Zheng Suyun, 60, from Lianshan District, was arrested when she went out on the morning of July 17, 2014. She was arrested by officers from the Lianshan Police Station who had been waiting for her in the apartment building where she lived. They confiscated books, a computer, cell phones, and other items from her home. She is being held in the Huludao Detention Center.

6. [Tahe City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Yuzhi and Ms. Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuzhi and Ms. Xiuzhen, from Louzhuang Village, Juling Town, Linying County, were arrested at home on July 9, 2014.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Heping District Domestic Security Division and the Heping Police Station arrested Ms. Su Xiaohua and two other female practitioners on the afternoon of July 16, 2014, after tapping their phones and following them. Ms. Su's home was ransacked. Their whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Jiuhai Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jiuhai from Xinggong Village, Liudian Town, in Pinggu District, was arrested on July 8, 2014, by Zhao Xiaofeng from the Liudian 610 Office, and officers from the Huashan Police Station, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. A laptop computer, a printer, and Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated from his home. Mr. Zhang failed a physical exam and was then released. He is under surveillance.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Rongcheng Arrested

Officers from the Chengdu Police Station barged into Mr. Zhang Rongcheng's home and arrested him on the evening of July 15, 2014.

10. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Officers from Pianling Town and the Gaoguan Police Station arrested Mr. Zhao Fugui from Pianling Town on the evening of July 16, 2014. Ms. Sun Shuyu, Mr. Liu Bin and his wife Ms. Ran Fang, and Ms. Zhang were arrested the next day.

11. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wan Queque Held in Mianyang Detention Center

12. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuhua Arrested

Ms. Li Yuhua, 62, was arrested on July 16, 2014. Her belongings, including Falun Gong books, a printer, a desktop computer, and a laptop computer, were confiscated.

13. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zheng Xufei Arrested

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Yu Shaoping, in her fifties, recognized as a model teacher at the Beijie Primary School in Dayi County, was sentenced to three years in prison on December 9, 2013.

Ms. Gong Shulian, in her fifties, from Sujia Town Government Compound in Dayi County, has been held in the Dayi Detention Center since her arrest on November 27, 2013.

Ms. Zeng Qiong, in her fifties, from Yinping Township in Dayi County, was taken to the Dayi Detention Center on June 4, 2014.

Ms. Dong Guohui, 78, was arrested by agents from the Yongchuan Police Department Domestic Security Division, the Zhongshanlu Community Office, and the Zhongshanlu Police Station, on the morning of July 16, 2014. They confiscated photos of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, along with Falun Gong books and informational materials, from Ms. Dong's home.

Ms. Kong Qiuge, about 65, who lives with her daughter in the Xinshi District, was arrested in early July 2014.

17. [Qichun County, Hubei Province] Mr. Cao Minzhang Arrested

Mr. Cao Minzhang from Datong Town was arrested by officers from the Datong Police Station on July 15, 2014. His whereabouts are unknown.
