(Minghui.org) A few days ago I went out at night with my child to tell people the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution. We passed by many stalls selling goods and services on the street.
I stopped at a shoe stall where the shoes were of good quality. As I looked over the shoes, I gave the saleslady a DVD of software that gets through China's blockage of the Internet, called FreeGate.
Her husband, standing behind her, quickly stretched out his arm and said to her, “Quick, take it. Is it FreeGate? Great! We had this software at my former job. We used it often. I resigned and now sell shoes wholesale, so we don't have it at home. It is a very good software.”
Now curious, I asked where he used to work.
“I worked as an editor for a newspaper after I graduated from the university. When big news would come out—for example, when the vice president of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Military Commission, Xu Caihou, was arrested and 35 high-ranking provincial officials were under investigation within one month after the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party—we news reporters didn't know what to write.
“All of us used FreeGate to browse the Dynamic Network website where we could read the reports from Western free media. We learned the truth and the facts of the power struggle within the CCP, and decided how to write the article. Otherwise, we might write something inappropriate or offensive to certain leaders in power. The Chinese media is full of lies and propaganda and you cannot tell what is true from what is false.”
When I asked him why he resigned from his news job, he said, “I was not able to support my family on a salary of three to four thousand yuan a month. I was not happy at work, either. We were required to write news according to the dictates of those higher up, such as the news about your Falun Gong.”
I told him that I used to suffer from stomach ulcers and recovered after I started practicing Falun Gong, and how I had benefited both mentally and physically from the practice.
I mentioned my husband and I were dismissed from our jobs because we would not give up our belief and were persecuted many times. I told him how the police tortured me by burning me with cigarette butts.
The shoe salesman said angrily, “This is a crime! Falun Gong practitioners shouldn't be persecuted. Our warehouse keeper is a Falun Gong practitioner. She is very good and trustworthy. You should sue the police. There are many cases on the Internet of police persecuting Falun Gong. I support you!”
I was touched by his righteousness. I asked the couple to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliates so they would be safe when Heaven eliminates the CCP. The husband understood and said, “We are Christians who believe in God, but we don't have the courage to oppose this persecution and save people.”
I said, “Because Falun Gong taught us the Fa very clearly, we are not afraid. We know the principle of 'good is rewarded with good and evil will be punished.' Falun Gong has great Fa power and protects practitioners if our character is up to standard.”
The man teared up and thanked me again and again for stepping out so courageously. His wife also expressed her thanks.
People are indeed becoming aware of the truth. Master's compassion and Falun Gong's power will soon be manifested in the world!
