(Minghui.org) I started to practice Falun Gong at the end of 1995. My happiness was beyond description. After I finished reading Zhuan Falun for the first time, I realized why we came to earth, not to enjoy human pleasures, but to return to our original, true selves through cultivation. Falun Dafa enables us to cultivate and gives us the ability to return home.
Miraculous Experience on the First Day I Did the Exercises
The first day that I practiced the exercises, my entire body first felt chilly and then I felt hot. Then I relaxed. From reading Zhuan Falun I knew that Master was purifying my body.
Afterwards the dizziness that had affected me for many years disappeared. The red bumps on my scalp were gone. I used to suffer from intestinal infection so I dared not drink cold water but that condition also disappeared. Now I truly feel like a person who has no sicknesses; my whole body feels light.
The first time I practiced the exercises and held the wheel in front of my head, four to five large Falun were rotating and changing colors in front of me and then they vanished. More than ten smaller Falun also changed color and rotated and then disappeared. Then countless small Falun dropped from the top of my head to my sides like snowflakes. I felt that Dafa is so amazing and extraordinary.
Helping More People Benefit from Practicing Falun Gong
Master told us: “Only by having people practice a righteous way can there be true salvation of all beings.” (Lecture Two in Zhuan Falun)
I wanted to share this marvelous practice with other people, so I began telling them about it. I started with my old friends and relatives. In early 1996, we borrowed the county's Political and Legal Affairs Committee conference room to watch Master’s 9-day lectures video. Seven or eight people attended.
The first Falun Gong practice site was started on May 5th in the park and we formed a Fa-study group in my home as well. Master’s lecture videos were played in my house once a month.
Later, six practice sites appeared and the number of Fa-study spots was increased to ten. After 1997, each Sunday, we would go out and tell people about Falun Gong and demonstrate the exercises. In the first half of 1999, the number of the people who came to join the Fa-study sessions and learn the exercises kept doubling each week. People who worked in the educational field were especially interested, and wished to practice Falun Gong.
Distributing Informational Materials to Help People Learn the Facts
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. On the morning of July 20, I intended to go to the park to practice the exercises. Just after I stepped outside my house, I found policemen waiting.
The local government and community center staff watched me in the daytime and in the evening four officers from the local police station watched me from their police vehicle, which was parked outside my house. I was forced to attend brainwashing sessions during the day.
At the end of 1999, I traveled outside of my town and had the chance to read Minghui Weekly. My fellow practitioner’s articles were very moving. I learned many good ways to clarify the facts. After this I made sure to read every edition of Minghui Weekly.
I learned how to use two-sided stickers with messages I wrote: “Falun Dafa is good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” and “Restore My Master’s Reputation.”
I put the stickers outside in the streets and residents area walls or on telephone poles. I also handed out informational materials about Falun Gong to my neighbors.
Illegally Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Later, I was sentenced to three years in prison. When I stepped inside a cell, I saw three Falun Gong practitioners handcuffed to a bed. From the first day that I arrived at the prison, two guards and two of the CCP members took turns “talking” to me and attempting to brainwash me.
I was assigned to the team consisting of elderly and handicapped people who were controlled relatively loosely. Whenever I had time I would recite the Fa and kept sending righteous thoughts from morning till evening.
Clarifying the Facts to the Prison's Political and Education Section Head
Three prisoners were assigned to watch me in shifts. I told them the facts and they accepted it. Since they only went through the motions of controlling me, I was able to do the sitting meditation in the evening.
The head of the political and education section talked to me. He said, “Your Master did not attend college and his knowledge is shallow.” I said, “Our Master has endless knowledge. He knows every major event, and every science from ancient to modern times. He is especially knowledgeable in philosophy and social studies.”
I continued, “Many university teachers and students have learned Falun Gong, including people from Tsinghua University. Many doctoral and post-doctoral students have read the Fa. What our Master says is the Fa. Each time my Master lectures without written words, but what he says can be put into words and published immediately to guide disciples to cultivate. Who else could do that? In each Fa-lecture, if disciples ask questions, Master answers them immediately.
“For example, one disciple asked: How do we understand the Chinese character "bei" in the term "ci bei" (compassion/mercy)?”
Master answered: “Without 'nothing,' it is a human feeling. If it is a human feeling, then it's not bei (compassion).” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
I told the head of the political and education section, “Master answered him perfectly. What our Master said could not be found in any books or learned at any college.”
Each time they talked to me, I would strengthen my righteous thoughts so that I did not give them any loopholes. When it was possible, I would speak first. I firmly refused to write the Three Statements.
No matter how they treated me, I remained patient and kind when I dealt with them. They could not change me so they eventually gave up.
Destroying the “Transformation” Attempts with Righteous Thoughts
In July 2010, a new division leader came. He persecuted Falun Gong practitioners so severely that some were disabled.
I was locked in a tiny room only three square meters in size. They played videos slandering Dafa all day long and asked me how that made me feel. I said that it was all fake. The head of the political and education section said that even if it was fake, I still had to watch it. They kept playing that video for over one month. I kept sending righteous thoughts.
The room was so small, the door and windows were all closed, the weather was very hot and they played that video with the volume turned up very loud. I could not stand it any more. I thought about starting a hunger strike. That evening I thought back and forth: What is this bit of suffering? If I can't endure this tiny tribulation, what kind of cultivator am I? No matter how big the ordeal is, I need to persevere.
They kept playing their evil video and I kept sending righteous thoughts. When I maintained my thoughts righteous, the suffering seemed less. Two days later I was moved to a bigger room and after two more days, they stopped playing the video.
Two to Three Months before I Was Released
Between July and August 2011, two to three months before I was scheduled to be released, the guards again attempted to force me to give up Dafa.
The head of the political and education section said, “Our Prison needs to achieve successful 'transformation' rates. Please accept the 'transformation'. If you do, my record will look good. If you don't, you can't go home and will go to the re-education class.”
I said I could not help him. If I helped him, my life would be ruined and his crime would be bigger. That afternoon, the head of the political and education section gave me a piece of paper with a written statement: “I give up learning Falun Dafa, I give up practicing Falun Gong.” The head of the political and education section told me that his supervisor asked this simple request and that I needed to sign it.
He was so upset I thought he was about to kneel down and beg me to sign the paper. I knew it was a trick that the evil was using to play on my feelings, and I had to resist. I asked Master for help in my mind and kept sending righteous thoughts. At that time my whole body was shaking, tears kept rolling down, and my lips were swelled up.
He was surprised and asked me what the matter was. I told him, “I won’t sign it, period!” He said, “OK, you can go back.” Later he did not talk to me for over a month.
Before I Was Released
One day before I was supposed to be released from the prison, the head of the political and education section came to talk to me again. He said, “If you refuse to sign the paper and to be 'transformed,' you cannot go home.” I firmly told him, “I definitely will not place my signature on that paper.”
The morning that I should have been released, the head of the political and education section talked to me yet again. He said, “Your family members are waiting outside. So if you sign now it will be OK. If you sign, your family members can pick you up. Otherwise, the state security police will take you away.” I said it was impossible for me to sign, and I must leave here in a dignified manner. I told him that I wouldn't leave having made dark marks against Dafa and I did not want to have any stains on my conscience.
Walking Out of the Prison in a Dignified Manner
Thus with Master’s protection I left the prison that morning in a dignified manner. My son-in-law and his friends came in cars to get me and take me home. My husband, his sister-in-law and my daughter-in-law and others also came to pick me up. The scene was very grand.
After I was back home, I resumed studying the Fa and practicing the exercises. Soon I recovered well enough to contact my fellow practitioners and to join them to clarify the truth and save sentient beings. I realized that our time is limited. Therefore, I have to hurry up and save more people. I deeply thank Master for His merciful salvation.
