(Minghui.org) Master has arranged different paths for different disciples, but every path leads to consummation. If we can consolidate our righteous thoughts and completely deny the arrangements of the old forces, especially when encountering tests, the evil factors will be eliminated.
My Arrest and Detention
I was reported and arrested one day when I was clarifying the truth to people. While being held in the detention center, I calmly looked within and found my loopholes. I realized that I had been clarifying the truth with a human mentality, and with an attachment to doing things. I had not employed a merciful heart and strong righteous thoughts.
I later refused to answer any questions asked by 610 Office agents. I sent forth strong righteous thoughts and reminded myself to follow only the arrangements made by Master, and to provide no confessions or signatures. The officers threatened me, "If you cooperate with us, you will be released right away, otherwise you will be sentenced." I thought of Master's teaching, "...just by remaining unmoved you could handle all situations." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Canada Fa Conference") I was determined to not cooperate with the evil in any way, to let go of all attachments, and to consolidate myself and pass this test well. I recited the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts every day, and never recited the detention center rules.
The guards respected me very much. They called me "Zhen-Shan-Ren" instead of my name. I explained the facts about Falun Gong to the other cell inmates. I told them the truth about the April 25th incident, and the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square, etc. I also persuaded them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
A female inmate in her fifties recited, "Falun Dafa is good, Zhen-Shan-Ren is good" every day, and she was released only a few days later. A middle-aged woman told me that while detained in the forced labor camp, she saw and even monitored Falun Gong practitioners. She said some of the practitioners were hung by their handcuffed wrists for long periods of time, but they never made a sound, not like the average people at all.
Experiences in the Brainwashing Center
After over three weeks in the detention center, I was sent to a brainwashing center. Each practitioner there was detained in a separate small cell and monitored by two "teachers" in turn. I sent forth strong righteous thoughts, totally denied the evil arrangements, and asked Master to strengthen me.
They at first wanted me to watch a video about Confucianism, and then "educate" me step by step. Master's Fa entered my mind all at once, "If you listen to them, bad things will enter your ears." (Lecture Six from Zhuan Falun) I sent forth righteous thoughts and said, "Don't play any videos! I will not watch them!" I shouted loudly, "Jiang Zemin is persecuting Falun Gong, Falun Gong is good!" The guard was so scared that she lowered her head and kept silent.
Officers from the 610 Office and people from my local residential office came to "visit" me. I said to them, "I will never participate in your so-called ‘study’. Please stop your evildoing." I shouted again, "Jiang Zemin is persecuting Falun Gong, Falun Gong is good!" My voice was so loud and that it scared and shocked them. The head of the brainwashing center said, "I never saw a Falun Gong practitioner like you. You are not compassionate." I replied, "I am beyond the limits of forbearance. I will not tolerate your impudent mistreatment of Dafa disciples!" They all left in panic.
Letting Go of the Attachment to Sentimentality
The two persons monitoring me were in their fifties, and had worked for years in the brainwashing center. They had communicated with many Falun Gong practitioners, and were all happy to listen to some truth about Falun Gong. After agreeing to help me get released as soon as possible, at my request they reported to their superiors that I had emergencies at home. The head of the brainwashing center came to talk to me for several hours. I said, "Coercion cannot change people’s hearts."
To be honest, I indeed missed my family. For a short period of time I also hesitated, but at that time I thought of Master's Fa,
"Since one’s real life is one’s Primordial Spirit, the one who gives birth to your Primordial Spirit is your real mother. In the course of samsara, you have had mothers who were human and non-human, and there are too many of them to be numbered. It is also countless how many sons and daughters you have had throughout your different lifetimes. Who is your mother? Who is your son or daughter? No one knows it after one passes away. You must still pay for what you owe others." (Lecture Six from Zhuan Falun)
"When I come to this ordinary human society, it’s just like checking into a hotel for a few days. Then I leave in a hurry." (Lecture Nine from Zhuan Falun)
Understanding these Fa teachings allowed me to totally let go of attachments to sentimentality for family members. My heart became very bright.
Obtaining My Release
The person in charge talked to me again two weeks later. She said that considering my special situation at home, they had decided to make an exception and let me go home, but I had to promise to "respect the laws." I said, "You detained me illegally. You are not qualified to ask me to respect the laws!"
After they realized that I would not make any promises or write any guarantee statements, they used their last trick on me. They called my family and asked them to help persuade me. I spoke with my family members on the phone, and with a righteous mind, I said, "Don't worry about me, I will be home soon!" My mind remained unmoved, and the next day, I really did return home.
Respected by Prison Staff
The persons in the brainwashing center who monitored me also respected me. They saw that I practiced as usual, recited the Fa every day, and sent forth righteous thoughts for other detained Dafa practitioners, so as to cleanse the evil field. One of my monitors told me later, "We all respect you. We have seen what a real Falun Gong practitioner is like because of you."
Yes, the people in the world are watching us, the countless Buddhas, Daos, and Gods in the cosmic bodies are also watching us. The way we walk is for the future human beings. We have the responsibility to walk righteously and save more people.
After I went home, I asked that the 610 Office respectfully return my confiscated belongings, including the electronic book reader and computers. I also clarified the truth about Falun Gong when I made that request, and they didn't delete hardly any Dafa content on my computer.
The management where I worked regarded me as an outstanding employee. After they learned I had been picked up and persecuted, they came to invite me to go back to work, saying that they had tried other applicants, but none of them were as qualified. My colleagues and managers all understood the truth of Falun Gong. They knew Falun Gong practitioners were always hard-working and good people wherever they went.
