Teacher Detained for Almost a Year, Sister Loses Job

(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Liping, a substitute teacher from the Qing'an Elementary School, was illegally arrested almost a year ago after a student’s parent reported her for speaking to students about Falun Gong in the classroom. She has been detained at the Chengdu City Detention Center since June 22, 2013. In March of this year, the Gaoxin District Procuratorate submitted Ms. Wang Liping’s case to the Gaoxin District Court for trial.

Ms. Wang Liping’s older sister, Ms. Wang Weijuan, a nurse at the Gastroenterology Department of the Huaxi Hospital, went to speak with the principal of Qing’an Elementary School after her sister’s arrest. She told the principal her address. Later police officers searched her apartment and confiscated a computer, a laptop, two printers, two DVD burners and 70,000 yuan. Ms. Wang Weijuan was then taken to the Chengdu Detention Center. She was put under house arrest for six months after her release.

In March 2014, Ms. Wang Weijuan was released from house arrest. However, she was not allowed to return to her former position at the Huaxi Hospital. She worked at the department that controls hospital infections for over a month, before she was transferred to the Center of Sterilization Supply at the hospital.

The center director, Huang Hao, did not welcome her at first. But on May 21, Huang Hao spoke to Ms. Wang Weijuan and was very enthusiastic about withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party. Ms. Wang believed him and gave him a DVD of the Shen Yun Performing Arts, an {amulet}} and a copy of the software that breaks through the Internet blockade the next day.

Two days later, Huang reported Ms. Wang Weijuan to the police station across the street from their workplace. Ms. Wang was taken to the police station and was given five days of detention at Chengdu City Detention Center. She is now facing termination of her employment.

Ms. Wang Liping and Ms. Wang Weijuan were from Weihai City of Shandong Province. Ms. Wang Liping graduated from the College of Liberal Arts of Sichuan Teacher's University in 2010.
