Additional Persecution News from China – May 28, 2014 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Fan Yali Arrested

Ms. Fan Yali was arrested by Li Junwei and other police officers on May 12, 2014. The police also ransacked her home.

2. [Jintan City, Jiangsu Province] Elderly Practitioner Ms. Xu Liyun Arrested

Ms. Xu Liyun, 67, was arrested at home on May 27, 2014.

3. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Jin Hua Detained

Ms. Jin Hua from Zhoushan City was arrested on May 19, 2014. She is being held in the Beilun Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Xu Huaquan Missing

Mr. Xu Huaquan from the Chaoyang District in Beijing has been missing for almost two months.

5. [Huanren County, Liaoning Province] Ms. An Yuhua Detained

Ms. An Yuhua was taken to the police department on the morning of May 21, 2014, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Huanren County Detention Center.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Yanmei and Ms. Pi Guijin Arrested

Ms. Liu Yanmei was arrested at home in the Shunyi District on the afternoon of April 25, 2014. The police ransacked her home and took her to the Nihe Detention Center in the Shunyi District. She was released the following evening.

Ms. Pi Guijin was released after being held in the Nihe Detention Center for a month.

7. [Jiaoling County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Tu Foman Arrested

Mr. Tu Foman was arrested on May 23, 2014.

Mr. Zhu Kaihong was arrested and his family members were threatened.

9. [Songzi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jizhi's Pension Reduced Since 2009

Mr. Zhang Jizhi, a teacher at Yancheng High School, took early retirement for health reasons. Since 2009, the school authorities, pressured by Deng Niangui, director of the Songzi City 610 Office, have been deducting 360 yuan from Mr. Zhang's pension each month, because his wife is a Falun Gong practitioner.

Mr. Zhang was injured in a car accident and could not take care of himself. His wife, Ms. Huang Wanping, has taken care of him. Ms. Huang started practicing Falun Gong in 2005. Deng Niangui, director of the 610 Office, forced the school principal, Li Yu, and other officials to sign the documents to deduct funds from Mr. Zhang's monthly pension.

10. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Numerous Practitioners Detained

On April 18, 2014, the police arrested quite a few practitioners. Among those arrested, Mr. Qi Changxing, Mr. Yao Hongwen, Ms. Wang Chunyang, Ms. Wang Guidi (pronunciation) and Ms. Chen Zhenhe are now in the Yuyao Detention Center. Ms. Yu Zhiying, Ms. Shao Hongni, and Meizhen (female) are being held in the Cixi Detention Center.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Gonghua Tortured in Prison

Mr. Zhang Gonghua, 39, developed liver cancer due to torture and intense forced-labor at Shenyang No.1 Prison. The hospital refused to release him on a medical parole. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2002.
