(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Luo Ling Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Luo Ling clarified the facts about Falun Gong to Luo Qiu, who is the retired former head of the Lianjiang City Domestic Security Division, on March 5, 2014. She also gave him a Shen Yun Performing Arts DVD. But Luo Qiu turned her in to the police, who arrested her. She was taken to the Zhanjiang Brainwashing Center. Ms. Luo was released on May 7, 2014.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Yuhua Held in Custody for Over Seven Months

Ms. Zhang Yuhua from the Daxing District in Beijing was arrested on the evening of October 1, 2013. She has been held in the Daxing Detention Center for more than seven months. It was reported that officers from the Beijing Police Department recently ransacked her home and confiscated a computer.

3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Lifeng and Ms. Xue Lihua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Lifeng and Ms. Xue Lihua were arrested for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the morning of May 23, 2014. The police ransacked their homes and took Falun Dafa books, portraits of Falun Gong's founder, and truth clarification materials. Both practitioners are now being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

4. [Botou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Rong Xiurong and Ms. Wang Tongmin Arrested

Ms. Rong Xiurong and Ms. Wang Tongmin were arrested by the Botou City Police Department for telling people about Falun Gong on May 3, 2014. Wang Wensheng, head of the Domestic Security Division, extorted more than 10,000 yuan in cash from their families. Both practitioners were released that night.

5. [Nanhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xie Wenrui Arrested

Police officers from Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, broke into Ms. Xie Wenrui's home, ransacked it, and arrested her on the morning of May 23, 2014. She is being held in a detention center in the Shaoguan area.

6. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Pingxia Arrested

Ms. Wang Pingxia was arrested on May 24, 2014, for telling people about Falun Gong.

7. [Ningjin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hongqin and Ms. Liu Yuhong Detained

Ms. Liu Hongqin and Ms. Liu Yuhong were arrested by officers from the Ji Town Police Station for telling people the facts about Falun Gong on May 23, 2014. They are being held in the Ningjin County Detention Center.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhao Zunwei Taken to Qingling Detention Center

Mr. Zhao Zunwei, in his fifties, was arrested by officers from the Liangdao Street Police Station on the evening of May 22, 2014, for distributing materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong. He was taken to the Qingling Detention Center the next day.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guan Xiumei and Other Practitioners Detained

Ms. Guan Xiumei, Ms. Ding Lihua, and Mr. Li Dongsheng, all from the Huanggu District, were arrested on April 24, 2014. They are being held in the No. 1 Shenyang City Detention Center. The police ransacked Ms. Guan's home and took more than 10,000 yuan in cash, a car, DVDs, and Falun Dafa books.
