(Minghui.org) When I read on the Minghui website that people could watch NTD television by having a satellite dish installed, I wanted to learn how to install them, so that I could help people in my local area. I tried downloading the instruction manual from the Internet to learn by myself, but found it to be too difficult.

In September 2011, my husband told me that a South Korean satellite company had resumed providing service to China, and that he was interested in installing a satellite dish to receive NTD programming. Perhaps Teacher saw our wish and arranged for us to work on bringing NTD programs to sentient beings in our area.

Learning how to cooperate with practitioners

A fellow practitioner was scheduled to come to our town and teach us how to install satellite dishes. I asked her to come to our house so that my husband could learn from her.

The practitioner left after two days, but my husband was still rather shaky on how to install the dishes. When he asked why we didn’t learn together, I said impatiently: “I was preparing the meals when she was here. How could I also learn?” We then started to argue. My husband asked: “Why can't you cooperate? This is not my own business. It is to save people.”

I was speechless. I knew that my husband was right. Why didn't I work together with them? I calmed down and asked him what he had learned, and we then started to learn together. We familiarized ourselves with terms on satellite dishes, went online to search for information and used the satellite dish in our house to experiment on.

We worked with a few other practitioners and formed a team. We experimented with different sized satellite dishes to figure out which is most suitable for our location. Sometimes we spent three to four hours searching for a signal outside but couldn't find one. The temperature was about twenty degrees below zero in winter in Northeastern China. Our hands were hurting even with our gloves on and our feet were numb. But none of us were deterred by the cold or fatigue.

Our hard work eventually paid off. Within less than a month, I had become familiar with the terms, concepts, principles and requirements for satellite installation. I also developed some level of skill in doing it.

Not insisting on one's own ideas

I wrote all of my newly acquired knowledge down to produce an instruction manual, and we began to promote the satellite installation. Five of us worked as a team, each taking different responsibilities to ensure the project's success. Not only did everyone take care of his/her own job, but they also helped other team members whenever necessary. No one insisted on promoting his or her ideas, and we managed to follow what Teacher said:

“When another God proposes an idea, they aren't eager to reject it, and they aren't eager to express their own ideas and they don't believe that their own ideas are good. Instead, they look at what the end result of the other God's proposed approach will be. The paths are different--everyone's path is different--and the truths that beings validate and enlighten to in the Fa are different, too, but the results might very well be the same. That's why they look at the results, and if the result of a God's idea can achieve the goal, if it can truly achieve it, then all of them will go along with it. That's how Gods think. Also, if there's something lacking in it they'll unconditionally and quietly supplement it to make things more complete and perfect. That's how they handle things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.”)

Many practitioners volunteered to get involved after they heard about our activities. For example, when my husband and I went out for days on end, my mother and aunt, both practitioners, took care of our four-year-old child.

As long as practitioners asked us over to teach them how to install the satellite dishes we would go, no matter how far it was. Within three months, we covered over half of the cities and villages in the province. Whether a practitioner had prior knowledge or not, we would teach them all they needed to know within one day. We covered purchasing materials, installation procedures, and safety and security.

Our efforts led to the introduction of NTD television to many people. After watching NTD programs, some people learned the facts about Falun Gong for the first time, while some believed what they heard and even quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. NTD television programs became an effective means to save sentient beings in our area.

Looking back over the past few months, I believe that if it weren't for Teacher's help, I wouldn't have succeeded in this undertaking. I want to thank Teacher for saving me and thank fellow practitioners for their help and support.
