(Minghui.org) Ten Falun Gong practitioners from the Hecheng District, Huaihua City in Hunan Province have been arrested and detained recently. Officers confiscated large quantities of personal belongings and more than 60,000 yuan in cash. So far, only one practitioner has been released.
Practitioners arrested, homes ransacked and personal belongings confiscated
Mr. Luo Jiabing and Mr. Zhang Chunqiu, who live at fellow practitioner Mr. Wang Xuehong's home, were arrested by officers from the Hecheng District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division on April 8, 2014. They searched Mr. Luo and confiscated his MP3 player, identification card and more than 10,000 yuan in cash. They also took Mr. Zhang's house key and used it to break into Mr. Wang's home.
Officers ransacked Mr. Wang's house and confiscated truth clarification materials, Dafa books, 50,000 yuan in cash and other personal belongings. They also arrested Mr. Wang and his wife Ms. Du Ziai.
When five practitioners went to Mr. Wang's home, they were questioned and searched by the police. Ms. Wang Yuying and Ms. Liu Yu'e were arrested.
Friends and relatives of the six arrested practitioners learned later in the evening that the practitioners were being held by the Criminal Investigation Team. They clarified the facts about Falun Gong to the police and requested the practitioners' release. However, they were forced out of the building at around 9 p.m..
Mr. Wang was released after 10 p.m., but the other five practitioners were taken to the Huaihua Detention Center.
Failed rescue attempt sparks more arrests
Friends and relatives of those being held, including practitioners Ms. Yin Qiuyang, Ms. Tang Qingying, Ms. Tang Kaiju and Ms. Xiao Guiying, went to the Hecheng District Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 9 to request their release. Deputy head of the Hecheng 610 Office Yang Hua took photos of them.
Officers from the SWAT team arrived at around 11 a.m. and started to clear the site. They pushed the four practitioners into a police car and took them to a hospital in Huaihua City for a physical examination and to have their blood withdrawn.
These four practitioners were taken to the Huaihua Detention Center that night. According to a guard there, the practitioners were officially arrested on April 10, which is the date on the arrest warrant issued by Deng Xiaoling from the Hecheng District Procuratorate.
