(Minghui.org) I am nearly 80 years old and started to practice Falun Gong in 1997. My family members and neighbors all say that I am glowing with health and look like I'm in my 40s. In fact, I have not seen a doctor for years nor spent one cent on medical bills.
People ask how I have kept myself so healthy. I smile with pride and say: “This is the result of my practicing Falun Dafa. Before I practiced Dafa, I was like everyone else. I was almost 70 years old and could not live without medication. I was unhealthy and unable to do physical labor or sleep well. All the money we saved ended up paying hospital bills. But look at me now! I am so healthy that I can do any kind of work!”
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999. Believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance was forbidden. Terror rained down upon all the cities and villages in China.
To clarify the facts about Falun Gong, I distributed handwritten messages on pieces of paper that told the facts about the staged “self-immolation” incident and the “mass appeal” on April 25, 1999. I also made it a point to tell everyone, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good.” I later bought a printer and started to print truth clarification leaflets.
Owner of Photo Studio Wants to Practice Falun Gong
In the fall of 2012, I was riding my bike when it started to pour. I saw something in front of my bike, picked it up, and discovered that it was a very full wallet. I shouted, "Has anyone lost a wallet?" But no one came to claim it. I returned home and saw it contained more than 600 yuan, two bank cards, and some receipts.
I asked my grandson to help me contact the owner. My grandson's wife said, “Come have lunch first before it gets cold. We can look afterward.” I said, “No, my Master taught us to consider others first. Imagine how anxious the owner of this wallet must be. I won't eat until we find him.” My grandson put down his lunch and helped me find a phone number on one of the receipts.
The owner of the wallet owned a photography studio. He was very happy to hear that his wallet was found and kept thanking me on the phone. I gave him my address and told him I would be waiting for him at the gate of the village wearing a red raincoat.
Soon a car with two people inside stopped nearby. I took them to my home and handed the wallet to the owner. He then tried to give me 300 yuan. I told them, “I wouldn't have called you if I wanted your money. I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Our Master told us to be a good person and always consider others first.”
He asked, “How can I thank you then?” I said, “If you would like to thank someone, then thank my master who taught me these principles.” He pressed his hands together in front of his chest and said, “Thank you, Master Li Hongzhi. You have such a good disciple. Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is good.”
I then told him there are more than 100 countries in the world where people practice Falun Gong. The CCP is the only government that forbids the practice and even harvests organs from Falun Gong practitioners and sells them for profit. I let them know that a rock in Guizhou Province contains a carved message foretelling the end of the CCP. I advised them both to withdraw from the CCP and they gladly agreed.
Before he left, the owner of the photo studio shook my hand and said, “Falun Gong practitioners are good. I want to practice Falun Gong, too.”
“Falun Gong Practitioners Are So Good”
On another occasion, I found a cell phone in the street. I called a number listed on the phone, and the brother of the owner answered. The owner was in town on a business trip and was very worried, but pleasantly surprised to learn it was found. When he came to pick it up, he also wanted to pay me. He said his family ran a plastic factory and all of their customers were stored in that phone. It would have been a huge loss if the phone had been lost.
I told him I was a Falun Gong practitioner: “My master teaches us to be good. We do not take anything that does not belong to us, and we consider others first. I won't take your money. All you need to do is to remember 'Falun Dafa is good.'”
I asked him if he had heard about withdrawing from the CCP to avoid future calamity. He said he had heard about it, but wasn't ready to quit yet. He then said, “Falun Gong practitioners are so good! You practitioners use your good deeds to lead by example. The CCP only tells lies. I know the evil CCP won't last long, so please help me to quit.
He also wanted me to help his wife and two children quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I told him I could, but that he had to tell them that they had to agree to quit of their own free will. He promised to explain it to them as soon as he got home and said he would ask all of them to thank Dafa's master. When he left, he waved to me and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”
“This Must Be Mr. Li Who Practices Falun Gong!”
One afternoon last year, I found 170 yuan on the ground and shouted to see if anyone had lost any cash, but no one came. I took the money to the village office and asked them to broadcast the message. There are more than 1,000 people in my village, and in the evening many people are outside walking, dancing, and chatting. The loudspeaker announced, “Someone with a good heart found some money on the street. Whoever lost it please come to claim it.”
Right away, one person in the crowd shouted, “In today's world, are there still people who find money and report it? He would be stupid not to keep it for himself!” Someone else chimed in, “That must be Mr. Li who practices Falun Gong! No one except a Falun Gong practitioner would do such a stupid thing.” Everyone in the crowd agreed.
Suddenly, a young man shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” I was very touched to hear that. Despite the fact that the CCP has tried all it can to slander Falun Gong, people's hearts still connect good deeds with Falun Gong practitioners.
“Falun Dafa Is Good!”
Once I was riding my tricycle on a bridge, and a small truck carrying coal hit me from behind. I fell off the bridge and the tricycle landed on top of me. Someone witnessed the accident and called for help. They lifted the tricycle and freed me.
I sat there and knew Master had protected me. The drivers of the truck were two boys around 17 or 18. They were in shock and sat there in disbelief. The man who saw the accident said, “Take the old man to hospital!” I said, “Don't worry. I'm fine. I practice Falun Gong. I won't get injured because my Master protects me!”
I told the drivers they could leave. Someone said they should pay me. I said I wouldn’t take their money: “They did not hit me intentionally, and I am not injured.” A bystander said, "Why does a person have such a kind heart as soon as they practice Falun Gong? Falun Gong is so powerful! There are still good people in today's world!”
Then the person turned to the two young drivers: "Luckily you met a Falun Gong practitioner. If you had hit an ordinary person, you would have had to pay them tens of thousands of yuan and wouldn't have enough even if you sold your truck! This gentleman is almost 80, and he does not ask for one cent. You met a divine being! Quickly, shout, 'Falun Dafa is good!'"
The two drivers were moved to tears. They shouted again and again: “Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is good! Thanks to Dafa's master for saving us!” The crowd chimed in, too: “Falun Dafa is good!”
