(Minghui.org) A press conference was held on April 5 in front of the Chinese Consulate in Calgary, Canada, calling for help to rescue imprisoned Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Yinghua. She is in critical condition after a month-long hunger strike in protest of her arrest.
Ms. Chen was arrested by officers of the Qiaodong Police Station and Shijiazhuang Domestic Security Division on March 12, 2014, said her mother, Huang Jinling, at the press conference.

Ms. Chen was arrested while visiting a relative who had been illegally sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong. She was sent to the Second Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She has been on hunger strike since the time of her arrest.
Ms. Chen's 75-year-old father traveled back to China from Canada, attempting to visit her, but he was turned away by the detention center. Her mother, Huang Jinling, is worried for both of them. “My husband has diabetes and heart disease. I am worried that he cannot withstand the pressure,” said Ms. Huang.
In tears, Ms. Huang called upon the Canadian people and government to help rescue her daughter, and pay attention to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Jienie Yang and Jeff Yang, two local Falun Gong practitioners, gave speeches at the press conference. They briefly introduced Falun Gong and reviewed the facts of the persecution in China. They condemned the Chinese regime and called for help to end the persecution.
