A Baby Recovers from a Serious Illness
In October 2008, a woman in Hebei Province gave birth to a seemingly healthy boy. The family was filled with joy. However, the next day, the baby suddenly began crying and would not stop. After the parents took the child in for a thorough exam, the doctors diagnosed his condition as cerebral hypoxia, which was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.
The doctors said that the baby's condition was life threatening and had to be treated immediately. They warned the parents that, even if the child were to live, he would have to deal with dementia or sequelae paralysis his whole life. The whole family was devastated. After staying at the Fucheng Hospital for three days, the baby was transferred to the Harrison Hospital in Hengshui City, where doctors there issued the same prognosis.
When the nurses discovered that the baby was unable to suck milk out of a bottle, they fed him using a feeding tube. Two days later, he was taken to the Provincial Capital Hospital in Shijiazhuang City, where, for the third time, he was given the same prognosis. The family was anxious and worried.
If the baby was treated in the hospital, he would still be crippled for life, besides the fact that the treatment would put the family deeply in debt. The parents opted to have the doctors remove the feeding tube and oxygen mask from their seven-day-old baby.
When a Falun Gong practitioner who was related to the family heard about the situation, he visited them. “Please don’t despair,” he told them. “The baby was born at a time when Dafa is spreading around the world, and therefore he is blessed. As long as you sincerely repeat, 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good; Falun Dafa is good,' miracles will happen.” That evening, the practitioner played one of Master Li Hongzhi's lectures for the baby to listen to, while the parents sincerely recited the nine words.
Gradually, the baby was able to drink his mother's milk. As the parents repeated the nine words, the baby's health and overall appearance greatly improved. Five months later, the baby was reexamined by doctors at Harrison Hospital, and the results all came back normal! The baby is now living a normal life.
Mother Finally Gives Birth after Reciting the Nine Words
A couple in their 30s described the agony of the wife going through five miscarriages during their four years of marriage.
They tried multiple treatments to help her carry to term, but none of them worked. They were very upset. They decided to ask a family member who practiced Falun Dafa for advice.
The practitioner told the wife, “If you often recite the words 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good; Falun Dafa is good,' that should solve your problem.” The wife said that she would follow his advice. In 2003 she became pregnant again and gave birth to a healthy boy.
The couple cherishes every Dafa brochure that they come across, particularly the wife. Anytime she finds one, she picks it up, wipes it clean, and redistributes it. Dafa disciples often give her truth clarification materials, which she hands out to people in her neighborhood.
After reading the above two stories, you might wonder why reciting these nine words has such a beneficial effect. The answer is simple: Falun Dafa is a high-level self-cultivation way of the Buddhist school, which Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, began spreading in May 1992.
In May 1998, China's state sports administrator visited Changchun City, the birthplace of Falun Dafa. In September 1998, the administrator surveyed 12,553 Falun Gong practitioners and found that 77.5 percent of them had become illness free after taking up the practice for a short while. Coupled with the fact that 20.4 percent of the remaining survey participants reported an overall improvement in their health, the total healing rate of those who practiced Falun Gong was 97.9 percent.
The average yearly savings on medical expenses had reached 1,700 yuan per practitioner, per year. This saved China over 21 million yuan per year. Among the participants surveyed, many had suffered several serious illnesses prior to taking up the practice.
In December 1992, Falun Gong participated in the Beijing 1992 Oriental Health Expo, with Mr. Li winning several awards for the practice's healing effects. When Falun Gong participated in the Oriental Health Expo in Beijing in December 1993, Mr. Li won the "Special Award for Extraordinary Science Progress," the expo’s "Special Golden Award,” and the “Most Popular Ongoing Master Award."``

Back then, both the academic world and the media in China often acknowledged that qigong was an extraordinary science. And for many who visited the 1992 Oriental Health Expo and were treated by Mr. Li, Falun Gong proved to be indeed extraordinary! The following are a few examples.
Massively Swollen Abdomen Suddenly Deflates
A woman aided by her husband walked over to the Falun Gong booth at the expo. Her belly was so swollen that she looked as if she were nine months pregnant. She said that no hospital could assist her, so they went to the expo to seek Master Li’s help. As Master moved his hand over her swollen abdomen, her belly started to deflate. After several minutes, her body returned to normal, and her pants looked several sizes too big.
People witnessing the event were speechless. When they finally grasped what had happened, they broke in thunderous applause. Many at the expo rushed over to see what all the excitement was about. The couple kowtowed to thank Master.
The couple immediately wrote a letter to the expo’s organizer, thanking him for inviting Falun Gong. The expo’s director, Li Rusong, read aloud the letter over the loudspeaker, adding, “This is the first thank you letter that we have received, and it was to praise Falun Gong." Chief adviser Professor Jiang Xuegui said, "I witnessed Master Li Hongzhi perform many miracles at this exhibition. Falun Gong is worthy of being recognized as the expo's star qigong school. As the chief adviser of the expo, I highly recommended Falun Gong!"
After Master Heals Paralyzed Woman, Who Sprints Home
A man in his 20s arrived at the Falun Gong booth carrying a paralyzed woman on his back. She said that no hospital could help her, so she asked the young man to take her to the expo, which was not far from her home. She said that she had previously heard about Falun Dafa's miraculous healing power. She registered for an appointment the following afternoon and then left.
The next day, just as the booth was closing, the woman and the young man arrived. Master was very tired from doing so many healings during the day. However, no matter how the staff explained this to the woman, she refused to leave. Master heard the commotion and came over. After the woman explained her predicament, Master started to heal her.
To stretch her spine, Master positioned the woman on his back and also held her in front of him to arch her body. When Master helped her to sit on a chair, she said she felt a bolt of energy go from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet.
About 30 minutes later, Master asked her to stand up. She slowly stood up. Master then asked her to walk. She cautiously took her first step since becoming paralyzed. Later, Master asked her to run, so she started to run. Onlookers were in utter disbelief and wildly applauded. The lady was so excited that she knelt down in front of Master, burst into tears, and kowtowed. She repeatedly thanked Master. People witnessing the event also shed tears.
She visited the expo every day, telling the other visitors about her amazing experience. More and more people visited the Falun Gong booth. Some came to be healed, while many came to learn about the practice itself and when the next lecture series was going to be held. To satisfy everyone concerned, Master wrote down the details of when he was going to hold his next session of classes in Beijing.
