Additional Persecution News from China – April 3, 2014 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 19 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Zhou Liulian and Mr. Lu Zongyan Detained

Mr. Zhou Liulian and Mr. Lu Zongyan were arrested for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in Lushan in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. They are being held at the Lushan Police Department.

2. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Zhao Benli Detained

Mr. Zhao Benli and his brother, who is not a practitioner, were arrested at work in Hangzhou City on April 2, 2014. They are being held at the Xiasha Police Department, and their family hasn't been able to visit them.

3. [Feng County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wu Cuiying Harassed

Xiong Zhengyuan, director of the Feng County 610 Office, and officers from the Wafangba Village in Nanxing Town went to Ms. Wu Cuiying's home and ransacked it on March 17, 2014. They confiscated truth-clarification materials and Falun Gong books. They also forced her to write the Three Statements renouncing her belief in Falun Gong.

4. [Longyan City, Fujian Province] Ms. Wu Xuexia Detained

Ms. Wu Xuexia was arrested on her way to visit her husband on March 31, 2014. She is being held at the Zhangping City Detention Center.

5. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hu Laixiu Detained

Ms. Hu Laixiu, 37 years old, and another elderly practitioner were arrested by officers from the Mining Security Section of the Liangzhuang Mine of Shandong Xinwen Mining Group on the afternoon of January 13, 2014, for posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The elderly practitioner has been released, while Ms. Hu is still held at the Xintai City Detention Center.

6. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Guimin Detained

Ms. Zhao Guimin was arrested on her way home by officers from the Railway Station on the afternoon of April 1, 2014. She was taken to the Yingkou City Detention Center.

7. [Mo Flag, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhao Shuzhi Detained

Ms. Zhao Shuzhi was arrested by Su Xiaoming from the Mo Flag No. 2 Police Station on March 29, 2014. She is being held at a detention center.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cai Lili Arrested

Ms. Cai Lili was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the local residential committee and police station on the morning of April 1, 2014.

9. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Chenglin Detained

Mr. Zhao Chenglin was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Mingshan Police Department on March 26, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. He is being held at the Benxi City Detention Center.

10. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Xu Wei Arrested

Mr. Xu Wei was arrested at work by officers from the Xian City Public Security Department in March 2014.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Xiang Jianyu Arrested

Ms. Xiang Jianyu was arrested for the fourth time on March 12, 2014.

12. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Wanrong Arrested

Ms. Liu Wanrong was arrested by officers from the Shiping Town Police Station on the morning of March 27, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.

Officers from the Longxi Town Police Station also went to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated a dozen copies of informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Liu was released in the afternoon.

13. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Hongen and Ms. Kuang Detained

Mr. Zhang Hongen and Ms. Kuang were arrested by officers from the Qipan Town Police Station on April 2, 2014, because they distributed informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held at the Qipan Town Police Station.

14. [Panjin City, Liaoning] Ms. Liu Qing and Ms. Su Fengqin Detained

Ms. Liu Qing and Ms. Su Fengqin were arrested in Xinxing Town on April 1, 2014, for distributing truth-clarification materials. They are being held at the No. 3 Detention Center.

15. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Dai Xianying Arrested

Ms. Dai Xianying was arrested at home by a dozen officers from the Guangming Police Station of Xiangyang District Police Department in Hegang City on the morning of April 2, 2014. They ransacked her home and confiscated a picture of the founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi; 30-40 Falun Gong books; an MP3 player; and headphones. She was taken to the police station, but was released in the evening for health reasons.

16. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Fan Longsheng's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Fan Longsheng was arrested by officers from Jiansanjiang on March 29, 2014, and his whereabouts are still unknown.

17. [Binchuan County, Yunnan Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhu Huifen, in her 50s, and Ms. Liu Guohua were distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs when someone who has been deceived the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda against Falun Dafa reported them to the authorities. Ye Yong, secretary of the Qiaodian Town Political and the Legal Affairs Committee, then arrested them on the afternoon of July 24, 2012. Their homes were also ransacked.

They were admitted to the Binchuan Detention Center. Ms. Zhu was released a month later, and Ms. Liu was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term. Ms. Liu is being held at the Yunnan Province No. 2 Women's Prison.

18. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Persecuted and Detained

Several practitioners were arrested or their home ransacked on the morning of March 13, 2014. Ms. Fu Cuizhi's home was ransacked; Mr. Meng Fanquan was arrested and his home ransacked by officers from the Lubei Police Department; and Ms. Xu Xiuyan and Ms. Dang Fengling were arrested and their homes ransacked.

Mr. Chen Liwu and his wife Ms. Wang Yaxin were beaten and arrested by plainclothes officers waiting outside of their home. Their home was ransacked and their cell phones and computers were confiscated.

Practitioners Ms. Xu Xiuyan, Ms. Zhou Xiuzhen, Mr. Meng Fanquan, Ms. Wang Yaxin, Mr. Wang Rui, Ms. Gu Youli, Ms. Zhang Lili, and Ms. Wang Lanxian are currently being held at the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.

Mr. Chen Liwu, Ms. Bian Xiaohui, and Mr. Bian Lichao's daughter are being held at the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center.

19. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial

Mr. Jiang Hai, Ms. Guo Youzhi, and Ms. Liu Rong were arrested by officers from the Dongchuan District Domestic Security Division on September 4, 2013. The Dongchuan District Police Department didn't issue an arrest warrant until September 30, 2013.

The Dongchuan District Court informed Ms. Guo on March 31, 2014, that all three practitioners will be tried.

20. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chai Haiyan and Ms. Ma Lihong Arrested

Ms. Chai Haiyan and Ms. Ma Lihong were arrested at work by Captain Zheng Xingwu and officers from the Lingyuan City Domestic Security Division on March 31, 2014.

Ms. Ma was released in the evening, and Ms. Chai was taken to the Xidayingzi Detention Center in Chaoyang City.

21. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Qingsheng was arrested by officer Yi Xiaoming on March 27, 2014, and taken to the Nanzamu Town Police Department.

Ms. Zhang Yuxia and Ms. Tang Yuting then went to the police department to request his release in the afternoon. They were arrested instead.

Mr. Li was transferred to Xinbin, while Ms. Zhang and Ms. Tang were transferred to Fushun in the evening.
