(Minghui.org) Officials from the residential committees in some districts in Shijiazhuang began to harass practitioners claiming it was in the interest of maintaining social order before the “Two Sessions” (National People's Congress Session and Political Consultative Conference Session). These officials went to practitioners' homes to harass them, performed illegal searches, and pressured them to write statements renouncing Falun Gong and agreeing not to make appeals.

Police Harass and Threaten Falun Gong Practitioners

Five Hedong Police Station officers in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Pang Shufang at 9 a.m. on February 27, 2014. Ms. Pang is in her 70s and is in a wheelchair. The police harassed her and took one of her Falun Gong books.

The Hedong Police Station police also broke into Ms. Liu Mingxian's home. Ms. Liu is close to 70 years old and paralyzed from the waist down. The police claimed that they were only keeping social order before the “Two Sessions” and tried to force her to sign a “guarantee statement” renouncing Falun Gong. Ms. Liu refused.

The Yuhualu Police Station officers went to Ms. Tian Qiuxia's home to harass and searched her house at 4 p.m. on March 3. They confiscated her computer and Falun Gong materials and illegally arrested her.

Three Ning'anlu Police Station officers, including Shao Zelong and three officials from the local neighborhood committee, went to the residence of practitioner Xi Yanjun to harass her at 9 p.m. on March 3.

More than a dozen practitioners in Shijiazhuang have been harassed by the authorities since February 26.

Changfeng Police Station officers in Chang'an District and officials from the residential committee broke into the home of practitioner Zhao Zhimin and confiscated a photo of Mr. Li Hongzhi and Falun Gong books. They claimed that they were getting ready for the “Two Sessions.”

Shigang Police Station officers in Xinhua District arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuxia and interrogated her at the police station. They took down a so-called deposition and released her.

Hepingxilu Police Station officers harassed several practitioners in Daguo Village. They threatened the practitioners that if they saw them with any Falun Gong DVDs and materials, they would be incarcerated.

Tan'gu Police Station officers and security forces from Baifo Village harassed practitioners in Baifo. The Hedong Police Station officers harassed practitioner Liu Yan. The Jintangu Police Station officers harassed four practitioners.

On February 26, An Zhijun led two Wangpo Township, Pingshan County officers, to practitioners' houses to film them with video cameras and to harass them. The practitioners include Gao Baidan, Gu Qinggeng, Kang Guoxian, and Kang Jungen. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, DVDs and informational materials from Gu Qinggeng and Kang Guoxian and tried to force them to sign an agreement stating they would not appeal for Falun Gong.

Practitioners in Nanzuo Town and Sucun Township were also harassed by local police.
