Additional Persecution News from China – February 26, 2014 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Beijing] Nine Practitioners Facing Trial

Ms. Zhang Mingxia, Ms. Zhang Xiuping, Mr. Hao Funing, Mr. Zhu Jinsong, Mr. Liu Fu Hua, Ms. Li Yanling, Ms. Feng Xiaoling, Mr. Yan Feng, and Mr. Jin Yuantao were arrested at Jiantou Village, Changping District, Beijing, on May 17, 2013. They are being been held in the Changping District Detention Center. A trial was held at the Changping District Court on February 18, 2014.

2. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhong Yingchun Taken to Guangzhou Women's Prison after Sentencing

Mr. Wang Xiangyu was illegally sentenced in June 2013, to four years in prison and Ms. Zhong Yingchun to three years in prison. It has been reported that Ms. Zhong was taken to the Guangzhou Women’s Prison. No further information on Mr. Wang's situation is available.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Shupin and Her Son Mr. Zhang Jinsong Arrested

Ms. Liu Shupin, around 65, and her son Mr. Zhang Jinsong from Shichang Village, Chengguan Town, Huairou County, were arrested around February 7, 2014 by the Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office, and their home was ransacked.

4. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Jianping Arrested and Others Harassed

Mr. Chen Jianping was arrested and taken to the Xianning City Detention Center on February 24, 2014. The police ransacked Ms. Yang Xiaohua's mini mart, harassed Mr. Tong Yi's family, and harassed Ms. Ren Huifang's family.

5. [Shanghai] Nine Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Shi Cuiying and eight other practitioners from the Minhang District were arrested on February 24, 2014. Three elderly practitioners were released that night because of their age. The whereabouts of the remaining six are still unknown.

6. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Fan Xiaosheng Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Mr. Fan Xiaosheng, a teacher, was sentenced to three years in prison for transmitting an electronic version of the book Zhuan Falun over the Internet.

7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Di Jianchao and Mr. Luo Jiangqin Arrested

Mr. Di Jianchao and Mr. Luo Jiangqin were arrested for producing Falun Gong informational materials at home by the police in the Panlong District. They are now in the Panlong District Police Department.

8. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zhang Shuilian and Ms. Lin Meifen Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shuilian and Ms. Lin Meifen were arrested in their dorm on February 22, 2014, for using a cell phone to spread Falun Gong information.
