(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Xiuping, a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanzhou, encountered Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officers slandering Dafa in public and deceiving the students and other bystanders with lies, as she passed by the Railroad No. 4 Elementary School at 10:00 a.m. on January 10, 2014. Ms. Liu pointed out that their behavior was illegal and asked them to stop immediately.

However, the CCP officers instead called the Domestic Security officers of Chengguan District, who arrested Ms. Liu and took her to the Xicun Police Station. Ms. Liu was transferred to the Taoshuping Detention Center that afternoon.

Detained in a Beijing Forced Labor Camp for Two Years

Ms. Liu used to work for the Lanzhou Railroad Bureau. Practicing Falun Dafa had given her better health and well-being.

When the CCP starting persecuting Falun Dafa, she appealed in Beijing for the right to practice Falun Dafa. For this she was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp in Beijing, to serve a two-year term. She suffered unimaginably cruel persecution at the labor camp. The abuse resulted in her head having a suture three to four inches long, and one of her ears was deformed. Ms. Liu's elderly father was overcome with anxiety as a result of her arrest and fell severely ill. He passed away while she was imprisoned.

Ms. Liu returned to her family in Lanzhou after her release. The family noticed that she had changed. She exhibited strange behavior and did not sleep much. She suffered heavy vaginal bleeding and was incontinent. She stood in one place for hours without speaking. After she began practicing and studying Falun Dafa once again, she regained her health.

Detained in Gansu Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Liu was arrested again at Haishiwan, Gansu while she was delivering truth-clarifying materials on April 30, 2006. She was later imprisoned at the Longjiawan Brainwashing Center.

In early October, with an order signed by Ms. Liu's office supervisor, officers from the Honggu District Domestic Security Division transferred her to the Gansu Women's Forced Labor Camp in Yuzhong County, Guansu Province, where she was cruelly persecuted once again. She was deprived of sleep, subjected to freezing conditions, starved, and beaten by guards and detainees. Her term was extended two additional months. Officers from the Xicun Police Station then returned her to her family. This time, her family found that her physical and mental condition was much worse than before.

Financial Hardship

During Ms. Liu's second imprisonment, her workplace fired her. Her husband, surnamed Wang, went to the forced labor camp to divorce her and took away their children. This pushed her into greater despair. When she returned to Lanzhou, only her siblings would take her in. She was so mentally affected by what she endured that she could not focus on work. She is now destitute. To buy food, she earns two to three yuan by collecting and selling plastic bottles to a recycling center.

Ms. Liu has been traveling on foot almost everyday for the past four years to seek justice. She visits the railroad bureau, law firms, provincial and municipal government offices, the Provincial Party Committee, and the departments of the National People's Congress to ask that her job and basic rights be reinstated. All responsible departments shirk their responsibility and even threaten her. Ms. Liu has received no compensation or assistance of any kind.
