(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Huayu from Lu County in Sichuan Province was detained for 20 days in a detention center by local police and the 610 Office. She visited the police station to discuss Falun Gong, hoping that police would stop harassing her family.

Ms. Li Huayu, 57, is a resident of Jie Village in Qifeng Township, Lu County. The police had been harassing her and her family since November 1, 2013, when practitioner Yi Qunren was arrested.

Ms. Li left home to escape the harassment, so the police threatened to put out an All Points Bulletin (APB) that the police were looking for her.

Police used her nephew, a government employee, who, due to his position, is expected to cooperate with police, to get her to return to her home. They also wanted her husband to get her to return home.

After learning that the police were continuing to harass her family, Ms. Li decided to go to the police station on November 25 and talk to them about Falun Gong. She talked to Wang Ziqiang from the 610 Office, who was in charge of Falun Gong matters. She explained that there was nothing wrong with living by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and that everyone in her neighborhood knew that she was a nice person.

Wang said, “We know all that, but you should not put up posters. It is fine that you believe that Falun Gong is good, but don't advertise it.” Ms. Li responded, “What you just said is the reason for my advertising it.”

Agents from the 610 Office interrogated her for an entire day in an effort to get the names of those who had given her the posters, but were unsuccessful. A few officers from the Lu County Domestic Security Division tried to recruit her the next day and have her reveal the names of fellow practitioners. She refused and tried to convince them that they should stop persecuting good people. But they were beyond reasoning, and held her in the Naxi Detention Center for 20 days.

Practitioner Yi Qunren was arrested on November 1, 2013, and is now in the Anfuqiao Detention Center.
