(Minghui.org) I was always very touched when I would read articles on the Minghui website about practitioners informing the Chinese people over the phone about Falun Dafa and the persecution. I had also been thinking of making phone calls to Chinese people, but my fears of being monitored prevented me from doing so.
I tried to study the Fa more and sent righteous thoughts to clear my fears and interferences.
Master said:
“This is especially so for the Dafa disciples in Mainland China: each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people.” (“Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World’s People”, The Essentials of Diligent Progress VOL. III)
I realized that fear equated to a selfish heart. It meant that I didn’t believe in the Fa and Master one hundred percent. I didn't just want to play pre-recorded messages to the Chinese people over the phone, I wanted to make full use of mobile phones to talk to and awaken more sentient beings. Nowadays most people have mobile phones, and it is not accidental that they are so popular. Foundations for awakening sentient beings have been laid out for practitioners. It is now up to us to take advantage of this tool, to awaken the world's people.
So, I made my first phone call.
“Hello, you are predestined to hear from me.”
“What can I do for you?” The other party asked.
“Have you heard of the “three withdrawals” to keep yourself safe?”
The other party hung up the phone immediately. I was not discouraged, it was a big breakthrough for me.
My fear kept me from making another call. I kept telling myself that I had to break through. As long as I kept calling, the interferences would be dissolved. My hand was shaking and I had some negative thoughts. I took some time to send forth righteous thoughts before making that second phone call.
“Hello, I’d like to talk to you for a few minutes. Have you heard of the “three withdrawals” to keep you safe?”
“No, I haven’t”
“Three withdrawals means withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Young Pioneers, and the Youth League.”
I talked, but was still a bit flustered, so my thoughts were scattered. I forgot about the speech I had prepared and just spoke off the cuff. Regardless, the other party listened, and from time to time, asked me questions. I felt greatly encouraged. Finally they agreed to quit the CCP.
I was happy to finally clarify the truth to people over my mobile phone. Master encouraged me. But I also reminded myself to let go of my show-off mentality and zealotry.
So I tried to let go of my attachments when I saw them surface and reinforced my righteous thoughts at the same time. I am now able to clarify the truth to people easily over the phone. Typically, ten or more people withdraw from the CCP each time.
Some other practitioners I know started to make phone calls as well. We shared experiences and tried to improve the way we spoke and what we said, so more people would listen.
When talking to people over the phone, we needed to speak calmly under all circumstances. Our hearts should not be moved even if the person on the phone is not friendly. Even though we are on a phone and they cannot see us, we should smile, they will feel our friendliness. This helped those we called to change and many were happy to withdraw from the CCP.
Some people told me that they hadn't joined any CCP organizations, yet they learned the truth about Falun Dafa. Some said that they had already quit the CCP. Others even told me that they repeated Falun Dafa is good every day as suggested by the local Falun Dafa practitioners. Others wanted to learn the exercise movements.
We were often praised for doing a good deed. Some officers from the legal departments reminded us that we should pay attention to our safety. Some agreed to withdraw from the CCP and wished us well. We were often thanked repeatedly. Some said that they would help people understand Falun Dafa, and also asked for my telephone number so that they could contact me to set up a time to learn the exercises.
There were times when I encountered people who were rude. I told them how to behave like a person with virtue. I reminded them that they should set a good example for their children and grandchildren. In the end they would turn around and respect me.
I once called a person who said to me with hate in his voice: “perhaps I should connect you with the other police officer here.” I replied calmly: “Why do you want to transfer me? Are you a police officer? It is you that I want to save, I am encouraging you to withdraw from the CCP to keep yourself safe.” Before hanging up, he said: “Ok, now I understand.”
Some people argued with me on the phone and contradicted me about everything. I looked inward to see if I had the heart of competitiveness. I let them talk while I sent forth righteous thoughts, and listened to them. After a short time they would stop, and that was my opportunity to clear up topics they were puzzled about. Usually, I could convince them, and they would withdraw from the CCP. They would then thank me.
There were some people who would argue with me non-stop. I would then use a firm voice and keep talking to them. After listening to me, some would say: “Your persistence has awakened me, I now know the truth.”
Some people were curious about me and would ask where I came from and about my job. I told them that I lived in China and was a volunteer who helped people withdraw from the CCP. They were surprised and I told them there were many of us, not just one. They would then become quiet and would listen to me talk.
There were others who talked to me about history, current affairs, foreign affairs and issues pertinent to China. Sometimes I would chat with them for thirty or forty minutes. I surprised myself about my knowledge, Master must have opened up my wisdom. One person was so impressed with my style and grace on the phone that they offered me a job with a monthly salary of 10,000 yuan. I refused and said: “A person equipped with virtue is far better than one with money.” He respected me even more.
The process of clarifying the truth over the phone is also a process for me to cultivate myself. Actually it is not hard to persuade people to quit the CCP over the phone. I only found it hard when I had human attachments.
